What About Bob? (DVD, 2000)

This film stars the comic genius Bill Murray with legend Richard Dreyfuss in it. Basically Murray is a psych patient who goes to Dreyfuss for help with his many phobias, only problem is Dreyfuss is going on vacation for a month. But the problem isn't Dreyfuss' it is Murray's. As soon as Dreyfuss leaves town Murray needs to see Dreyfuss, so Murray does what any normal psych patient would do; he finds the doctor at his vacation resort and drives the doctor to insanity, but Dreyfuss' family loves Murray, which makes Dreyfuss take drastic measures............ I personally thought this was the funniest movie I have seen yet, buy it you will not be dissapointed.

It's a classic, excellent movie for small children, I know our grand-children all loved it. This movie was made back when quality counted most in Hollywood, today it is quantity.

What About Bob? is a classic. It's just as funny time after time as the first time I watched it. Dreyfus and Murray are a great combination. I bought this DVD after years of owning it on VHS and never get tired of watching it.

What About Bob was a great movie. Its a movie you can watch with the whole family. You don't have to worry about certain things you don't want your kids to see. Not to mention, it was hilarious!

After catching the end of "What About Bob" on t.v. a couple of weeks ago I decided I had to own it! It really is one of Bill Murray's best roles although Richard Dreyfuss is especially phenomenal. Bill Murray (Bob) comes to Richard Dreyfuss (Dr. Marvin) with a menagerie of problems. Dr. Marvin gives him a copy of his new book titled Baby Steps. Before Bob even gets to try his 'baby steps' he finds out Dr. Marvin is going on vacation for a month. This throws Bob into a tizzy so he craftily finds out where Dr. Marvin is vacationing and manages to find his way there. The most hysterical part of this movie is that Bob is driving Dr. Marvin absolutely crazy, but his family thinks Bob is great. They even say he's more fun than Dr. Marvin. There is a scene where Richard Dreyfuss is waiting for the rain to stop so that Bob can walk himself home. The look on Richard's face as he steadily stares up at the rain with the hope that it will quit any minute while he hears Bob laughing and singing with his family in the background is HYSTERICAL! There's a few twists and turns near the end as Dr. Marvin becomes more and more desperate to rid himself of Bob. It DOES go a little overboard near the end and leans toward pure cornyness but redeems itself a little in the last scene when Dr. Marvin comes out of a "What About Bob" induced coma just in time to witness his sister marrying Bob! The family AND Bob kiss Dr. Marvin on the cheek and everything seems as if it's going to be okay. This is really a great movie that my family enjoys watching over and over. They also love imitating Dr. Marvin yelling at Bob, "DON'T TOUCH MY SISTER!". If you like comedy, especially comedy without the raunch or crud, you'll want to add this movie to your personal DVD library! Note: Does contain some cussing although it's mostly contained in one scene where Bob claims to have a condition that causes him to having outbreaks of cussing. There's also some mild crude language such as 'douche bag'.

Love the interplay between the 2 main actors. One crazy going sane, the othe sane going crazy. Very funny. I just didn't like the few times explitives were used. It would have rated an excellent except for that. But an all-around funny movie.

I would watch this movie wheneva it came on! I actually use alot of the sayings in this movie & bought it not only cuz I luv it, but in using these commments, I realized my fish man didn't undastand cuz he never saw it! So im going to loan it to him!

bill murray at his best. it's a gut buster for sure. the ending could of used a little re-tooling, but all in all it's a fantastic comedy.

Through may histarical events, Dr. Leos every chance at trying to rid his vacation and family of his new patient ending in mess of events and an ironic twist!

This is the funniest movie.. Love unpredictable laugh out loud movies.. Great Performance by Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfus...Great storie line... Strongly recommend this movie to anyone.

Love this movie! Have seen it over and over throughout many years. AND it still makes me laugh during the entire movie. I would recommend this movie to just about anyone.

I would like to comment on the Kyozou payment process I had no choice but to go through. I am unfamiliar with this and was not satisfied that I was forced to use a payment program that I know nothing about. In addition, I was charged sales tax. This was something I have never seen before in my purchases. Last but not least, once I was done with this unfamiliar process...I was unable to go directly back to my ebay page. I had to completely close the window and log entirely back into ebay. I followed the process given, so this made the process not only discomforting and unfamiliar...but inconvenient as well.

I love the main actor, Mr. Bill Murray..."Bob Wiley", so clever. I love the part where he came up w/ the idea of being a detective looking for the doctor...Clever! He played the part so well...
I enjoyed this movie, although it was made back in 2000, I hadn't seen it until now. It a classic...Funny...Entertaining for the entire family to watch together. Great DVD added to my collection. Thanks!!

I recently purchased this movie for my girlfriend birthday seeing as it was here favorite movie yet was unable to find it on DVD. After hearing her rant and rave about how funny this movie was i caved in and decided to watch it with her and was VERY surprised how amused i was throughout the movie so i highly recommend this movie to anyone who needs a good laugh

I saw this movie and decided it was worth buying. After going to three different stores, and not being able to locate the dvd, I went on Ebay. As usual, I found the item I was looking for. I purchased the dvd for a great price (even with shipping!)and received it in the mail in about 4 days. I was very happy with the purchase, including how fast the seller shipped it after my payment!!

I was looking for this old movie to buy it to see again, because it is so funny. I remembered it from many years back, and upon seeing it again, was not disappointed. Timeless humor is always welcome in any day or age. The situations while contrived, are not really impossible. There is just enough hint of truth to the wild behavior of "Bob" to find laughs time and time again as his "problems" become too much for him, and he transfers these difficulties to the hapless Doctor played by Richard Dryfuss. Well worth watching when you need a good laugh and "baby steps"...

This has got to be one of the funniest movies ever made. The pairing of the two main actors, Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss is perfect! Dreyfuss is Bill Murray's stressed out shrink. Murray plays a patient who is afraid of everything and thinks that his shrink's genius has "cured" him. He ends up driving his shrink absolutely nuts while ingratiating himself to the shrink's family.

The plot turns are hysterically funny. The characters are played to perfection!

This will go down in history as my favorite movie ever!
