If you like David Lynch's brand of filmmaking, you will love Blue Velvet. If you don't, you will spend a lot of time wondering what is going on.
The story is closest to Lynch's popular Twin Peeks, and doesn't feature the character shifting he moved to in Mullholand Drive and Lost Highway. Still, if you don't like to be challenged, this probably isn't a movie for you.
However, if you don't mind some violence and a few gross out sequences, this is a very well made film that keeps the audience guessing.
