I saw this film in the theaters liked it so much got it in Beta and DVD. Roy Scheider, Daniel Stern (young), Warren Oates, and Malcolm McDowell. Roy Scheider is a man on the edge, remembering Viet Nam flights and interrogations, is picked to fly an experimental helicopter, that is used for offensive maneuvers for riot control, or so it seems. The Government team is there, to show them this is great for the community, however, tha Mayors investigative team finds out what the real purpose of the helicopter is. Great performances, and fantastic footage of helicopters flying around downtown Los Angeles. Malcolm McDowell plays a ruthless person in this film, a man you want to see get it. And when he does, you will cheer. Roy Scheider turned in a performance worthy of an Oscar, (too bad he didnt get one). Daniel Stern in a drama role (before he turned to comedy roles). Stern was great in this film.
In an age of Big Brother versus the little guy, we must realize there are still angels in other positions who realize the potentiality of Freedom and the right to express it and not to quelch the little guy or to undermine our Constitutional rights. And this film, projects both.
