Blue Stinger (Dreamcast, 1999)

If you like the Resident Evil series this game is definitely for you. My 5/5 rating for this game is not an overstatement, this game is that good. Because of its poor ratings, I am writing this to inform gamers of a great title they possibly missed out on.

I have a hard time understanding why web sites and magazines rated this game so poorly. If you look on my me page you will see that this game made my top 15 favorites list. I have played thousands of video games, and I believe this is easily in the top 15. Maybe it isn't on the same pedestal as say Resident Evil Code Veronica but I would say it's awfully close!

The story and gameplay is fantastic. Blue Stinger features its own unique style of survival horror. The hulking bosses are amazing and the style of health recuperation was certainly an original and creative idea. Ammo is actually purchased from vending machines, unlike Resident Evil where characters just happen to find hand-gun ammo on every street corner. But then again, what kind of vending machines sell ammo to the public in the real world! Health is recuperated in a similar way, from the purchasing of foods in vending machines.

This is my favorite Dreamcast game of all time. Best of all few others seem to think the same, resulting in a very low market value for this game. It can be purchased on eBay for $1.00 at times it seems. Many fellow games I speak with tend to agree this game was nothing short of amazing, it's just the magazines and web site editors thought otherwise.

I wish a sequel would be made for this game. Blue Stinger in my opinion is the best Dreamcast game you can buy.
