The Blue Ridge Rangers by John Fogerty (CD, Apr-1991, Fantasy Records USA)

This is definitely one of the best CDs that I've got. It has a mixture of country, bluegrass, and gospel.This CD shows that John Fogerty can play and sing a wide variety of music. Definitely my 2nd favorite CD of John Fogerty (revival being the 1st). I would definitely recommend that you buy this CD.

I've always been a Creedence Clearwater Revival fan, since the I first heard the 45 "Down On The Corner". I pretty much continued to buy most of thier other 45's with the exception of a couple of albums, but my favorite was thier "Chroncle" doule LP set, it contained all thier best songs. When I first heard "Somewhere Listening For My Name" it was on a Country radio station and I thought that sure does sound like CCR! The announcer said it was the "The Blue Ridge Rangers". So I bought the 45 and liked it so well I purchaced the album and listened to the whole album and it was great! The best cuts are Somewhere Listening For My Name, Jambalaya, She Thinks I still Care, I Ain't Never and Today I Started Loving You Again. (Basically every cut is great!) So after listening (this album came out in 1973) I started reading all the album notes and not only did John Fogerty sing all the songs he did all the back up vocals as well as all the insturments~! What a great find it was to see it on CD for the first time after all these years! If you are a CCR FAN don't let this one pass you by~~! I got it at a great price here on E-Bay and all I can say is that this is one fantastic album with a twist a Rock and Roll singer doing some great old country songs~~!!! Hope this helps to convince you to by it!

Thoroughly enjoyable CD. I'm not a big country fan but this CD is compiled well and gets you singing!

IM BOUGHT THE CD OF JOHN FOGERTY -THE BLUE RIDGE RANGERS- BECAUSE IM CONSIDERED THAT HISTORY OF CCR AND JOHN FOGERTY ARE INCREDIBLE, IM FAN OF THIS GREAT MUSIC. THE CD IS EXCELLENT, THE SOUND IS WONDERFUL.

Loved it from the minute it started to play, a real treat to hear Fogerty do these tunes of other artists in his own way. Highly recommend if you like Fogerty and BlueGrass/Country music.

I love this album--I have almost worn out the title track on the album. I carry the CD whereever I go just so that I can listen to one more time. I have been looking for an album like this for awhile and I finally found it !
