Blue Man Group - The Complex Rock Tour Live (DVD, 2003)

I bought this on a whim, and boy, am I glad I did! After watching it on my $12K+ home theater, I immediately went on eBay and bought the other two discs from Blue Man Group! The visuals and incredibly accurate sound reproduction go so well together...I was blown away! Absolute PLEASURE to watch! Buy this one and you'll end up getting the other two, just like I did! LOVED it!

I like the comedy type of acts they do. I like the way they express them selves, and use a creative mind. I plan to go to one of their shows one day, but this movie is almost like the show come to you! These people use different type of pipes and equipment to make music. They do little acts that make me laugh all the time. And the thing is, there are no negative things about it, as for they do not use bad language, or have any violence. I thought it was good to buy it, because I like the Blue man group and so does my father. A lot of people get board, or want to watch a movie, this is just the right one!

My husband absolutely loves the Blue Man Group. Thats why when I saw the dvd listed on ebay, I just had to get it for him. It was an inexpensive gift. The dvd is recorded very well. Looks and sounds great. The only thing better would be if we were in the audiance ourselves! Very happy with this dvd and would buy more if they were available on here. May check with PBS to see if we can buy more via them as they show the Blue Man Group on there periodically. I highly recommend this dvd to anyone who enjoys concerts and loves the Blue Man Group.

I bought this music video because I'd seen the BMG in person but had not seen the Complex Rock Tour show. One of the features I loved about the video and the reason why I bought it was it featured Venus Hum lead songstress and siren Annette Strean and that fabulous electric dress.

Unfortunately Strean's singing career and tours with Venus Hum were temporarily, or as some might argue, permanently derailed due to a serious throat condition Strean suffers.

This album features Strean performing a repackaged alternative rock version of "I'm in Love" from our near-long-forgotten disco era.

Strean's vocals are impressive and colorful. Its a miracle that the video was made featuring her, but a terrible shame that we might never hear her vocals again. At least not the way she sand them.

The tour video includes other guest entertainers who contribute music and lyrics to the show.

Briefly the video opens in classic BMG style with an at-first subtle tube, a curtain obscuring what appears to be a single performer drumming on some tubes, and then slides into a dramatic crescendo. As the curtain is lifted the "orchestra" is revealed and one counts at least 4 drummers, 4 guitars and numerous other musicians onstage.

What makes this performance "complex" is the use of conventional alternative rock performers, conventional rock musicians, and a blend of all of the above with the traditional BMG instruments (essentially PVC pipes and other objects beaten with kitchen spatulas, drum sticks and the like).

Interspersed with this musical performance is a humorous narration by an off-screen, professional movie-trailer narrator, and some cute video effects on a huge screen monitor behind the band; all of which are followed by the Blue Men as they fake being naive' and perform brilliantly.

This one's a keeper and there are no trade-ins allowed.

My wife and sister and I saw the Blue Man Group Show in Las Vegas. We loved the show and bought the DVD for a gift. It's just sooo cool. If you have seen the show then you will understand why I wrapped the DVD in toilet paper, a lot of toilet paper. If you didn't see the show, then go see it and then you will understand why the toilet paper.

I didnt like this video after I purchased it. I expected to see the Blue Man Group perform and it was a disjointed, cobbled up mess that was never clear as to what the video was all about. I was very very disapointed and will probably resell the video just to get rid of it.

I'm so glad I got this DVD. My husband and I recently saw the show live and our kids were upset as they wanted to see it too. They really enjoy watching this DVD and they love to act along with the Blue Man in the show. It has inspired their own creativity which I love to see.
If you've seen the Blue Man Group or want to, this is a great DVD to have. It gives you a real feel for their show and music.

I saw a few minutes of the "Blue Man Group" on our local public tv station and thought "I have to get this". It is a completly unique concert that blends humor, music and visuals with a dash of dance and thought provoking lirics. A high energy event that is a work of art in every aspect.
It is something you can share with family and friends without being embarased about content. I will look for more of the work from this incredible group.

even tho this dvd is not about their las vegas kind of shows, it was excellent in giving me an idea of them even tho i have never seen this group ever. i recommend this dvd to those who can't see them otherwise. it was very entertaining and their music and humor is excellent as showcased in this dvd.

LOVE to watch & listen to BLUE MAN GROUP! Pure genius what they do as musicians & entertainers. Totally unique! And, they're addictive. The more you see of them the more you want. Hope I can someday I can see them in person. They have to be absolutely awesome to see & hear for real.

In addition to the 14 Complex Rock Tour Live tracks are 3 full-length bonus music videos of “Sing Along,” “The Current,” and “Exhibit 13.” Also note that this is a double-sided DVD disc. Side B contains 3 songs from the 5.1 Surround Sound (DTS and Dolby Surround) version of the album, The Complex. The songs are “Above,” “Your Attention,” and “Sing Along.”

I was a previous owner of this DVD prior to my son breaking it so I had to get another copy! It is a great DVD!

I saw the Blue Man Group in concert in Chicago and loved it! They have developed a truly multi-sensory experience unlike anything else. There is comedy, lights, genuis percussive instruments all wrapped up in a rock concert. I highly reommend this to anyone who loves music and entertainment.

My kindergarteners love the blue men because they are fresh and creative.
They also love the beat of the music. Almost all of them were up dancing at
the end of the class.

If you have never seen the Blue Man Group this is just about like being there. Put it on your home theater and crank the volume! I bought this cope to pass along to a family memeber for Christmas. I know he will enjoy it as much as I do. I am sure that I will buy more copies to pass a long to others as soon as they come over and see it.

As for the seller. Got it to me fast and well packaged to protect it. I hope if they have more copies I can get it for the great price I got this one for.

Hold on to your hats people this is one rocking group. They have a wonderful sense of humor and are so talented. I had the privileged of seeing them in concert and was taken with them. We all had a wonderful time at the concert.
This is a must have DVD for people of all ages and genders. Just a fabulous group having fun.
Fun for the whole family. No down side at all to this group!
I just ordered this for my grandson and I know he will be thrilled!

We have really enjoyed each DVD and CD that I have received from you, because I can't find the DVD or CD just anywhere, and it is a treat to find them so easy on ebay , I've not walked around ebay to see just what all stuff is in there.

This is a must for anyone with 5.1 sound! Classic Blue Man. The classic, comedic, and surprising Blue Men will not let you down here. The flip/disk2 has a few mind-blowing DVD audio 5.1 songs that are the best I have ever heard. Annette Strean/Venus Hum and Tracy Bonham add a nice variety to the performance. Annete's "I Feel Love" with the electroluminescent dress is awesone! The Dave Mathews songs (a couple) are a bit drab but the rest of the concert is amazing. Turn up your equipment and your wide screen and rock the house! Safe and fun for all ages. This one is an incredible sound, stage, and light experience for young and old.

Greatest thing since peanutbutter!!! Grandson listens, dances and droms for hours and hours. Worth a million babysitting dollars. Gramps.

Though this group is best experienced live- this is a highly entertaining video that concentrates on the music and gives a good impression of what to expect at an actual concert. The sound is awesome and the video is never static so it's highly watchable. Most of the comedy seen in the live shows is left out and there is a funny disclaimer about this. Nothing offensive and a great family video.

I absolutely Love The Blue Man Group. They bring real imagination to life with awesome musicians and talent. I'm a drummer myself and I love watching seven drummers come together with an entire band to make amazing music and sound effects. They are also amuzing and funny. These guys are the greatest thing in America since The BeachBoys !

Saw their live show and wanted to get a video. This is from an earlier show but has many of the same elements. Video and audio quality are superb. The show itself combines humor, social commentary and excellent music to provide a great deal of entertainment.
