Album Notes Irish four-piece Bell X1 has built a devoted fan base, over the course of three albums, with their knack for melodic hooks and organic rock sound. BLUE LIGHTS ON THE RUNWAY, the band's fourth studio effort, takes a detour from that established blueprint by mixing electronica elements in with the guitars, bass, and drums. The result deepens the Bell X1 sound, giving it a heady edge without detracting from its overall warmth. Memorable melodies are still at the heart of each of these songs, whether they're rockers ("A Better Band"); gentle, digitally outfitted groovers ("How Your Heart is Wired"); or reflective ballads ("Light Catches Your Face"). This album comes recommended to those who enjoy Snow Patrol, Coldplay, or any well-crafted pop/rock with an adult alternative side.
