Blue Heaven by C. J. Box (2008, Hardcover)

This is one of the best books I've read lately! Like the other reviewer stated: I picked it up and couldn't put it down. I read it in two days and it only took me that long because I had to go to work! I enjoyed the scenario of the older men coming together to save their town (and the children) from the 'outsiders'. Be sure to add this book to your collection soon!

I have read all of his novels and much prefer the Joe Pickett series and Joe Picket character. As in his others, he depicts the setting well, has vivid characters, plot a little far out, and continues that western motif of the good guys vs the bad guys. I thought the ending was mushball and not in tune with the rest of the book. However, (spoiler coming)since he laid the main hero to rest I assume this will not turn into a series which is a plus. His branching out to me is a sign that his writing is growing stronger, I would like to see him rely on the strength of his keyboard and not continue to put in extreme and gratuitous violence which he seems to feel obligatory in every book. Surely no one reads the books for features like (spoiler?) a giant hog that disposes of bodies. Very cleverly named book.

To the best of my knowledge, I,ve read everything that CJ Box has written. I'm not usually a mystery reader but this guy gets in my head and I'm done 'till I finish his book.
I've waited for months for this book to come out,I seen it first on e bay and actually beat all my buddies to having the first copy on the block. The book didn't let me down, it was great!

Have never read this author bought as a gift. Excellent condition. Can't review what I haven't read.

The book was just as promised. Very good book and it was a hardback at less than the price of a paperback in any store. Even with shipping.
