The Blue Butterfly (DVD, 2006)

I rented this DVD and found it to be such a refreshing change to many fo the movies available. I Love that I had a chance to view the film with a cleaner launguage rather than unnecessary use of words. I found the interviews to be enlightning and look forward to sharing the DVD with all who wish to view it.

The Blue Butterfly is a touching movie about facing death, chasing your dreams, and rectifying the mistakes in your past. A little boy with a terminal illness wants to see a rare blue butterfly in its natural habitat. He goes to the scientist who is an expert in the field and asks to go on an expedition with him. The scientist reluctantly agrees. Together they learn to accept life for what it is and to find the beauty, no matter how difficult the task becomes.

The DVD is great, I bought it because I have a blue butterfly which generates all the more interest for my guests when viewing the movie.

This is an excellent movie the whole family can enjoy. We appreciated that the dvd has settings for profanity removal. I wish all movies had this option.
This is based on a true story, so that makes it more meaningful. It encourages tenacity, courage, and self-disipline.

They sent the dvd prompt. I think they would do better not sending it insured. Not something I wanted to pay extra for.

a beautifully done story of loss and life. Being a bereaved parent this film encapsolates each parents desire to fufill their childs wish but in this magical true story it also brings a miracle which every parents prays for. The closing dialoge of the child will grip your heart and resound in your heart!

It is based upon a true story of how a young boy was "miraculously" healed of cancer and wanted to show it to a friend.

We heard about this film from a family friend who highly recommended it. This is a wonderful and moving story about a young boy and his dreams and the way his spirit positively affects those around him. Beautiful cinematography of the lush Costa Rican jungle and excellent acting by all. We all love this movie and we have watched it over and over again. A really great and inspirational family film.

I was pleased with the speed in which I received the DVD after placing the order and the condition of the DVD was excellent. No problems.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this movie. Beautiful scenery, a deep, passionate story line, and a happy ending too! What a great testimony of a young man who beat the odds with a little "magic", and the help of those that loved him most. I loved the movie, and had to have it for my own after renting it. Highly recommended!

I bought this DVD because our 4 year old son was recently diagnosed with ALL (acute Lymphoblastic leukemia). It is the most common childhood leukemia and is very treatable. Our son loves butterflies, and has been catching them and caterpillars..watching them hatch..etc... So this was a perfect fit for us...he was mezmerized by the butterflies and many other jungle creatures on this movie. The story is great...and the best part was how the movie generated such an adventerous spirit in all of us. The only down part was very slight bad language. But you need to understand that our family is particularly sensitive and protective about language etc... We will continue to watch this movie because it is so good despite the couple minor languages.
