In this book Chalmers Johnson offers a theory called "blowback" this is the term he uses to characterize the United States' problems in different regions of the world. In his opinion U.S. problems in the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America are a result of previous U.S. policies in those regions which has resulted in resentment of the United States. This book offers an opposing view to that offered by Samuel Huntington's "A Clash of Civilizations," the book is well balanced, intriguing, thought provoking, and most importantly relevant to today's world.
