BloodRayne (PlayStation 2, 2002)

Bloodrayne offers up some straightforward, simple action. Sometimes a little too simple. There are lots of levels to play through in this game, although not a whole lot distinguishes the enemies you face along the way, and it does get a little repetitive.

You play the role of a female vampire, fighting off the evil nazi's. You're out to stop them from finding some body parts of a famous vampire, or something like that. I found the story uninspired, and didn't pay too close attention to it. I was more into the action of the game.

Bloodrayne does offer up a lot of positives to keep you playing though. The main character herself is enticing, although some of her cut-scene animations are a little exaggerated.

The in game animations are lots of fun to watch as you do pull off some great attack moves, such as jumping on people, and sucking their blood as you use them as a human shield. Oh, the blood. Yes this game lets you see a lot of it. It's quite messy. You'll even see body parts become severed off of you victims while you hack away. Although there's a decent number of moves, you don't really pull many of them off. Just keep button mashing and they will happen.

Your weapons throughout the game include a variety of guns, as well as a chain weapon to hook-on and pull your enemies in. The most used weapons though are the the giant fore-arm blades, which do the aforementioned hacking and slashing.
The aiming is precise, and you have good control over you players movement.

An added twist to you arsenal is the vampire powers you have access to as the game progresses. This includes special vision modes, and enhanced reflexes to slow down time.

If your looking to kick back for a couple hours, and enjoy some mindless bloodshed, give Bloodrayne a whirl.

This is a great game to add to your library and at a reasonable price. It is fun, innovative and has agood storyline with great cutscenes that draw you into the game. It's a dark gothic action/adventure game with plenty of atmosphere. It is more for teens and adults due to the amount of blood and gore it puts forth in abundance. It has pretty good replay value and offers many cheats (found on the web) to aid players who encounter problems later in the game. All in all worth every penny! I highly recommend buying BloodRayne.

I dont like much the graphics are not to good. and the Controling of the cheracter sucks. Their needs to be more characters. if it was more like a grand theft auto setting it would be great. other than that its lame

The story of Bloodrayne is both alluring and lurid, complete with mutant psycho Nazis and giant instects, all needing to be dispached (quite messily) by the moderately psychotic but loveable Rayne... The game movements gave me vertigo, but I was able to correct some of it by adjusting the x y axis on the controller. Cheat codes are great and aplenty for this game, making it just a little more special... I will keep this one, and probably play it when the moon is full... >>:}<

I love the Bloodrayne Series (BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2)... It has something for everyone.

How many games out there do you get to play as a Kick-Butt, Hot Vampire Chick.. part heroine.. part bad-ass.. You get the idea. As a girl myself, I enjoy getting to play as a girl in the game.

The theme is great. Though I prefer killing creatures to Nazis.

The graphics rock. I especially enjoyed the marshes and the castle.

You get more attack moves/combos/ and Vampire-like abilities as the game progresses. I really like the fact that she has both human and vampire skills and weaknesses. Watch out for water (learn to jump and walk on wires).. and you also have to suck blood to stay alive. It may sound weird but the whole pouncing on someone, straddling them, and sucking their blood kinda has a sexual vibe to it. -- Take that how you will.

I love Rayne's character. The writing is nicely done- funny and sarcastic.. though she does soemtimes repeat the same catch phrases which can become a bit redundant.

Overall, great game. Once you start you won't want to stop playing.

very good condition, i wanted this for a christmas present for someone else, they loved it! no scratches, good case and even came with manual!

Good graphics, exciting adventures, and good violence. The only thing not great about this game is you could finish it in one sitting. One reason being you don't want to stop playing but it is easy also.

All around this game was a good play.It wasn`t as good as blood 2 but i wasn`t expecting it to be.I just wish I could get past a certain level.Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The graphics are awsome and Fun too see.
We play the game and compete together so over all the game is fun anc chalenging all att the same time.

Blood Rayne is a pretty solid game. The visuals are nice, the plot is funny. Lets send a vampire chick to take care of the Germans, lol. The controls are cooperative for the most part, sometimes the camera angles will Not cooperate, but thats in about all games. Not a super difficult game, but its a fun one.
