A few of the earlier books in the Vampire Chronicles have touched on Marius and his life-story, but this book looks closer at Marius and his various adventures. I did find some parts repetitive (having read the previous books in the series), but over-all felt it was a very good read.

I have not read this one yet, but I have heard good things about it. It tells the story of Marius, the original vampire. He is an important character in many of the vampire chronicles books, and so I am very much looking forward to reading his story.

Blood and GoldIt was a Christmas gift for my granddaughter and the price was good. She likes Anne Rice books and I was able to get a lot of books on e-bay for her with good prices. I am pleased
