This is one fascinating movie.I bought it because it is something I want to watch again and again. The background where it was shot is stunning, and remains so through the entire movie. This director (Katja von Garnier) took a thin premise (as did the book) and made a masterpiece out of it. The acting is stellar, Vivian (Agnes Bruckner)is a constantly unraveling character. The pursuing love interest (Hugh Dancy) is terrific. The chemistry between them is explosive, yet you are expecting his character to just leave early in the movie and you don't want him to. That creates suspense itself. The gang of wolves is led by Olivier Martinez very handsome and believable, and to top it off the out of control mischievous Rafe (Bryan Dick) is unpredictable and suprising; all four of these actors created a leading roll out of thier rolls and they pulled it off.
The special effects are believable and tastefully done. This movie is a european beauty in action, beautiful people, beautiful background, and suspense.
The title killed the movie, nobody likes the combination of blood and chocolate, and the fact that Vivian works in a chocolate shop is insignificant. The book! , the book! so what, you can always say from the book as a byline in the beginning, the book fans usually, complain anyway.
The write up didn't help 'the change from person to wolf has been well documented' this sounds like some B movie premise.I don't know who is naming movies and writing the by line, but there needs to be a changing of the guard. Recently there have been a rash of bad titles on good movies. In this case 'Beautiful Evil' 'Wild Things' any title other than Blood & Chocolate.
