Movie Description A group of Italian immigrant winemakers struggle to keep possession of land, family and traditions as a ruthless industrialist attempts to buy up all the land in order to bring a railroad into the region. When one family in particular resists all efforts, more deadly forces come into play.

Notes "Blood Red" marks the first and only time thespian siblings Eric and Julia Roberts appeared on-screen together.
The idea for the film was publicized in 1976, but "Blood Red" did not get produced until 1986 and, moreover, was not put in wide release until 1990. However, Hemdale Releasing Corporation brought the film to a small number of theaters briefly in 1989.
Actress Carlin Glynn is the wife of director Peter Masterson.
