The Side of the Story that's Rarely Heard

How often have you heard it said, "The problems of the Middle East go back thousands of years. Those people just can't get along with each other!"?
This autobiography of a Palestinian peacemaker shows that's not true at all. The account of Elias Chaccour, born in a small village in the Galilee in about 1940 is so compelling I give away copies of Blood Brothers to anyone who will promise to read at least the first three chapters within a month and when finished to pass the book along to someone else who will make the same two promises. So far I have bought and given well over 300 copies, though I live frugally on social security. And I have received profusive thank you's from many of the readers.
The Arabs and Jews living in the village where Elias grew up were so close that his father called the Jews their blood brothers. If you had a wedding in those times, you had two best men - one Christian and one Jew.
Elias loved to romp on the hillsides where he knew his "champion" had played some 2000 years earlier. He eventually became a priest and is now the Vatican-appointed Bishop of the Galilee (Northern Israel.) But I'm getting ahead of the story.
When the Zionist soldiers came to town for "a brief visit," little Elias saw at once that they were a different kind of Jew than the fellows who had so often sat around with his father drinking coffee and talking for hours.
You'll find it very hard to put the book down as you follow the changes in the life of this youngster and his family and you'll have a valuable understanding of the roots of the conflict today.
By the way, there's a conflict resolution story that will knock your socks off as the recently ordained priest serves in his first parish.
I hope you'll pass the book along when you've finished it, asking for the two promises.
