This book was required reading for our book club. It was enjoyable. The characters were interesting. There was a sub-plot that I found not very necessary to the flow of the book and it took about 100 pages of the 500 page novel to really get into the flow of the book. I don't think I'd read it again, but I would recommend it for someone who likes to do character analysis or possibly for a sci-fi fan. Margaret Atwood is a fine writer. In that her style does not always appeal to me is not necessarily a fault of her writing. It might just be my own personal literary taste.

Canadiana at its best. I love the way Atwood creatively entwines 3 stories into one. This mix of Sci-fi and victorian romance are so entwined to reality that it is astonishing. Atwood effectively creates A beautiful realistic and dramatic backdrop that not only adds to but also enhances the mystique. Book represent a superlative trip back in time/history. Hard to put down. Recommended to all! Many thanks to M. Atwood for her superior and utmost believable work.
