  God all mighty...what talent!!
Review created: 07/07/09

The only reason I found out about zakk (Jeff) is that I am a HUGE skynyrd fan!!I saw him do a little dedication at the reunion show for skynyrd at the fox theater in atlanta georgia.I play guitar and once I heard him I was hooked!! To this day,he is THE man for in your face balls to the wall guitar work.I once read a article that if ozzy heard zakk play skynyrd on the bus one more time,he would dig up ronnie van zant and let him do the fuckin singing himself!!
ROCK ON!! Long live the memory of RVZ

Pros:
Everything! This is the sleeper hit of the year.

Cons:
None. Nada. Zilch. Squat.

Jeffery Philip Wielandt, Flip to his family and friends, was given the name Zakk Wylde when he joined up with Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 20, in May of 1987. In 1988 Zakk made his professional debut with Ozzy on the blisteringly heavy No Rest For The Wicked album. Some of the most awesome metal guitar riffs ever played can be found on songs like "Miracle Man", "Devil's Daughter", "Crazy Babies", and "Breakin' All The Rules". Zakk has also played on 15 other Ozzy albums including No More Tears and Down To Earth. Apart from his work with The Ozzman Zakk has contributed tracks to albums such as..

Too bluesy for a Black Label Society album
Review created: 06/30/04
by: metalking -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Zakk churns out another Black Label Society record that will please die-hard fans.

Cons:
Much too laid-back and bluesy; I thought Zakk was tough!

For those of you not familiar with Zakk Wylde, he is Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist (and if you're not familiar with Ozzy, well- I don't know what to say.) Zakk Wylde has a heavy metal band on the side called Black Label Society, and his material is usually tough-as-nails heavy metal. His type of heavy metal is between Ozzy and heavy Black Sabbath with extra speed. Blessed Hellride, however, doesn't get past first gear. Overall: This album fails on two levels. It s too heavy for the bluesy crap on this record, and it s too bluesy for when the album tries to be heavy. For straight-up heavy metal,...

Get locked in on the fourth BLS album, The Blessed Hellride
Review created: 04/04/03
by: jimmiespipe -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
classic BLS, heavy riffs, awesome solos, and growling vocals

Cons:
not a single one.

The Blessed Hellride is the fourth studio album from Zakk Wylde s Black Label Society. Zakk worked to get this album cranked out before Ozzfest (Black Label Society, with the exception of the first and maybe second Ozzfest, always opens the main stage at Ozzfest.) Who is Zakk Wylde? Shame on you! Zakk Wylde is the mammoth axe slinger to Ozzy s left. Zakk started his career as Ozzy s guitarist( No Rest for the Wicked- Down to Earth) but has developed a credible side project as well. What s so special about him? Zakk is hands down the best heavy metal guitarist along with Dimebag of Pantera...

While Ozzy is viewed by millions on MTV, his former guitarist gets his freak on
Review created: 04/21/03

Pros:
Insane heavy riffs and head-spinning soloes will knock you dead...

Cons:
I'll get back to you...

Zakk Wylde just won't stop ridin' that Crazy Train. On his previous three albums, including 2002's 1919 Eternal he has established himself as one of the greatest metal players of all time. He tip picks two and three minute soloes like he was born doing it and lays down the heaviest riffs you will hear. Zakk sings, plays rhythm and lead and plays the bass in all of the songs. He can pretty much do it all besides play the drums. I really don't consider myself a real heavy metal fan, so don't think this is only for guys with multiple piercings and tattoos, maybe just a mohawk. I would consider...

A Mulitfaceted Album, Showcasing Zakk's Versatility, and more...

by: unforgivensdmf -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Zakk's voice is heavily refined on this album, and every single song is solid.

Cons:
Eventually, it ends.

For all you out there who don't know about Zakk Wylde, or think Ozzy Osbourne is just "That old guy who talks funny on T.V.", this should come as an eye-opener. Zakk Wylde, originally known as Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist, has come into his own in the past 10 years, showing amazing musicianship, unrestrained dedication, and unbridled talent, in his post-Ozzy ventures. Starting with his Southern Rock influenced "Pride and Glory" album, through his piano-driven "Book of Shadows" album, and his more recent band "Black Label Society", Zakk has shown both physical and mental versatility, and...
