Bleach by Nirvana (USA) (CD, Oct-1989, Sub Pop Records USA)

i bought it because i had been wanting it and it was very cheap. it's got here very fast and in fabulous condition.

This is one of my all time favorite albums. This is the third time I have bought this album. Nirvanas best album.

The jewel case had a crack across the front, but the album is near 20 years old and CD is flawless and I'm happy with the transaction. Much thanks!

Loud, noisy, and pretty much what Grunge was meant to be. I must admit that I am a bigger fan of their more polished stuff but the raw angst certainly has it's place and this deserves to be played as much as any other Nirvana album. 4 Stars.

I grew up in Seattle in the 90's. This is a crystallized version of that life. A perfect window into a time before emo, punk revival, 90's goth, when youngsters still had excess angst to rid themselves of in a serious manner.

Nirvana hit the scene hard with Smells Like Teen Spirit and they were then a household name. They were loved for their raw power and edgy hooks. This is an example of that raw power. Kurt Cobain's sludgy guitar sound and excellent songwriting are evident on this pre-Nevermind recording. About A Girl came to light when they released MTV Unplugged, but it was first recorded on Bleach. This is the nicest song on this CD. It's played with a clean guitar sound, or the closest thing Nirvana had to a clean guitar sound. Everything else on this disc is guitar filth in your face. It starts out with classic dirty guitar grunge on Blew, and doesn't stop except for the short break with About A Girl. The highpoint of the disc is on School, Love Buzz, and Negative Creep where you can sit back and just enjoy their pure energy which foretells what is to come from this exceptional band. Nirvana changed the course of rock with Nevermind, but just as important, they started out and became a band with this underrated debut album that should be in everyone's collection. You talk about era altering, and you can't help but talk about Nirvana. They recorded this album for a mere $600 and change. What a bargain! What a band!
