Now, this is what I look for from Mr. King. Great character development, detailed progression of who this character is and how he became who he is. I cared about this character. I didn't want the story to end. You can see little bits and pieces of future characters throughout. John Coffey is there if you look hard enough.
This book was not horror and not science fiction but it was still beautifully Stephen King. With profound perception of the human spirit, humor and sadness, Mr. King hits the mark. I especially appreciated his comments to the "constant reader" before the story began. Although it was written years ago and he himself didn't care for it too much at that time, I thought it was well worth reading.
I LIKED the book, not loved the book. It is an earlier dust-off of King's as Richard Bachman. It is great to see some of his earlier works. This is worth checking out. It has his style, but isn't as riveting as others. Bag of Bones has to be my personal favorite. I would probably buy his daily routine if he put it down on paper.
