BlastWorks: Build, Trade, Destroy (Wii, 2008)

This is a great game that is appropriate for kids. I like having a shooting style game that is not shooting at people. This allows little boys to do the shooting and still be age appropriate. It is challenging enough for Dad to enjoy too. I would definitely get it again.

It is not much fun playing it on your own you have to get online (wii-connect) to make use of full potential of this game. Unfortunately I am not allowed to play online so it was not much fun for me after few hours of playing.

Blast Works is one of those hidden gems that a lot of people may not recognize if they don't go treasure hunting for Wii games. This game has got that classic side-scrolling flying shooter with a Katamari Damacy formula which is a great combination. It's in much similarity to TUMIKI Fighters, a PC game which is what Blast Works was based on, and is created by the same creator. If you're good enough, you can unlock all 4 extra games created by Kenta Cho (including TUMIKI Fighters).
The game has a great online feature via WiiConnect24 where you can upload and download your custom creations (ship parts, maps, etc.) to an online community at www.blastworksdepot.com as well as an online leaderboard.

The only grip I have about Blast Works is that there's no online co-op which would have made this game absolutely perfect. Unfortunately it's only offline local multi-player with up to 4P. I would've loved this game much more for online co-op but it didn't happen. It's still a good game though.

The game is excellent, arrived in a timely manner, my son is only six and loves to break things, this a good way for him to get it out of his sysem! Not to mention I like it to!
