Movie Description
This release compiles two wonderful records of the birth of the New York punk scene. BLANK GENERATION, directed by Amos Poe and Ivan Kral (guitarist-songwriter in the Patti Smith Group,) is a compelling musical documentary, shot in 1976 at CBGB's, which contains great early performances from the Ramones, Johnny Thunders, Talking Heads, Blondie, Patti Smith, and others. DANCIN' BAREFOOT, a project of just Ivan Kral, takes a similar but more interview-heavy look at the New York punk scene, featuring interviews with Blondie, Iggy Pop, and other punk legends, as well as live footage.
