We purchased this item for our daughter's homeschooling in her study of the U.S. Law class. It is a well-known law dictionary and is very valuable in studying law. Great book!! Would recommend it to everyone.

  Best Law Dictionary!

The 6th edition is the best of the best. The newer editions are washed out, and are not worth the trouble. It is the best tool you could have for a parent who has had run in's with CPS and will have to learn to defend themselves. It is one of the three tools I suggest to all parents who find themselves hauled into court kicking and screaming. And there the 3 federal articles in the back too.. Declaration, Constitution and the Bill of Rights. If you do not know you're rights you don't know who you are. Truth, Justice and the American way died just after the PUBLIC school system started.
The government has become insurrect to the rights of the people. Tyrannis, in office declaring themselves above the law.
I suggest you pick up you're rights and become a "cowboy mentality" A well educated population is not a Subservience population.
"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin.
What is rightfully yours is only so by you standing up to protect it!
The Law belongs to the People. When anyone breaks the law they become lawless.

  Black's Law Dictionary: A Primer!

I needed a quick back up reference book to find some legal terms. This book clearly served that purpose.
Although, it was published in 1991, many of the common law concepts are still valid. I would recommend it for both professional and lay persons!

  Black's Law Dictionary

The Gold Standard addition to the library of the Court Interpreter. This dictionary includes all those pesky Latinish legal terms that all the characters in the courtroom situation say. For example, say you're assigned to a courtroom at a certain date and time to interpret for a defendant who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing. An interpreter can look up all the possible words and phrases that might come up in that situation, as well as all the words that really did come up after.

A good referernce book to add to research library
Review created: 09/10/06

As a research reference book it gives definitions of terms used in all Law documents. I have used it several times since I received it and have found it to be very helpful. In the Genealogy research I have been doing many of the documents are of legal origin and quite difficult to interpret with out this dictionary. It also includes the Constitution of the United States with the Amendments. It is a good addition to a research Library well worth the small investment.
