WHAT MORE CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS CD? DON'T HESITATE, JUST GET IT. MY INTRODUCTION TO MACHINEHEAD WAS 2001'S SUPERCHARGER, I LOVED IT. I READ A LOT OF BAD REVIEWS FOR IT, BUT I LIKED IT. I LIKED IT SO MUCH I STARTED BUYING THEIR OTHER ALBUMS. NOW THAT I HAVE HEARD THEIR OLDER STUFF, I SEE WHY PEOPLE COMPLAINED ABOUT SUPERCHARGER. ALL IN ALL, IN MY OPINION, THE BLACKENING IS THEIR BEST ALBUM.

) I saw Machine Head perform live at the Masquerade in Atlanta on Sept. 18th, 2007 where they performed some of the tracks off of the new album. When I heard Halo and Aestetics of Hate live, I had to get the Blackening. Own it if you like to headbang to music that will empower you.

A bit step in the right direction from Supercharger and The Burning Red. Less "rap-metal" and more punching riffs and screaming vocals. A must have for old-school Machine Head fans!
