Blackbeard's Ghost

A real classic from the 1960s. Dean Jones is the coach of a failing Godolphin team, track and field sports. Michael Conrad (Hill Street Blues) also is in it as the Football Coach, who reminds everyone the name of the Game is Football, and that is where the real money is. Suzanne Pleshette, is the secretary and treasurer of the school. A mild attraction at first with the new coach, by the end of the film, she is admirably in Love with the coach. Peter Ustinov, has the best part in the film as Blackbeard. Whose claim to fame, is he is cursed for letting his men, kill his wife, who cursed him to walk the planet without rest, until he deems himself worthy, by doing a good deed. And for Blackbeard, that is hard to do, until he meets the local gambler, who is also a cheat.
Between dean Jones, the coach and blackbeard, they take on the gambling hoods, clean up the casino, and clean it out, rescue the maiden descendants of Blackbeards crew. Save the Inn, save the small township of Godolphin. Fall in Love. A curse is lifted. Blackbeard sets sail to go to whereever he is going with his crew.
Admirably, a funny film. A real family classic, done by Walt Disney Studios, at the backlot of Disney. One of the few films filmed there.
