This movie Blackbeard has Richard Chamberlain and Angus MacFadyen as the pirate. It's a drama about the Pirate Legend!

Doesn't have that much to do with Blackbeard, more with a story spun around him. Lot's of believable action, fighting scenes and a great storie. Definately worth watching, more than once.
It has everything a pirate movie needs,sea chases, love, adventure, hidden treasure, intrigue. and some of the characters you just love to hate!
This movie didn't get enough attention in the media.

Loved this movie the adventure and suspence were great! One I'll watch again and I'm not one for doing double duty on a movie. Once is usually enough for me. THis movie held my hard to hold attention!!

In the tradition of "The Mysterious Island" & "The Curse of King Tut's Tomb," Hallmark Entertainment brings another version of the infamous pirate Edward Teach, aka "Blackbeard", who plundered the shipping lanes of the New World & was an equal opportunist to all sailing vessels, British or French. Great acting by Angus Mcfadyen & Mark Umbers, with limited appearances by Rachel Ward & Stacy Keach & an aging Richard Chamberlain as the governor of New Providence, one of the strong holes of piracy in the Caribbean Sea. There is the search & discovery of the infamous Captain Kidd's buried treasure on Garden Island, long after he was hung in New England for piracy of His Majesty's territories.

Was hoping more for a pirates of the Carribean...but being what is was..a good movie. I would have thought that BlackBeard had a more action packed life...at least portrayed in the movie. THe film was fine though.

This Complete Miniseries is not rated, running tme 169 minutes. This is the true story of Edward Teach, known as Black Beard (Angus MacFadyen). He was a notorious Pirate, who terrorized the high seas in the 18th century. His reputation is legend and he is feared by all. He sets port in a small sea town to sell his stolen ware when he is recognized and sentenced to hang. He takes a hostage as he flees the town, leaving two innocents to hang in his place. Black Beard and his crew take to the high seas with the royal army giving chase. This movie is full of action, adventure and romance.

This movie was not historically accurate and was very tedious to watch. the actors portrayals were anything but brilliant.

Pirate lovers, If you are seeking a newer & realistic/alternative pirate movie that the whole family can watch! This is a must for your DVD collection. There is nothing offensive about this film whatsoever. Done in good taste for the young , old and all others. Just enough action and romance balance. No offensive sexual content, no close your eyes blood bath scenes set this apart from the extreme shock movies of late. The story is also consistent with the history of Blackbeard! Wish it were longer than a 2 part episode!(the 169 minutes seem like 90!) Excellent cast. Nice scenery! Take a modern day trip into the golden era of Pirates! A CLASSY production!

I thought it was a Blackbeard movie that I remembered from my youth, but found
out as I was watching it, that it was the Hallmark version of Blackbeard. Which is ok too, but recently they showed the movie on Hallmark. I still like the movie and will keep it in my collection.

If you like Pirates of the Carribean, you will love Blackbeard! The casting is excellent,(although Richard Chamberlain is getting a little old). The story retains your interest throughout the entire movie. The pirates portray their lifestyle accurately. We bought the dvd and will keep it with our collection of classics that we enjoy watching over and over. I highly recommend this movie.

the action, the tail on how blackbeard began and ends. and the best part to me is what happened to the treasure towards the end of the movie. i would recommend this to anyone who want to know something about blackbeard. i bought the movie because i saw the one from the history channel and wanted to see the difference. i like the action and how things were done.
