The original BlackBerry Curve was a huge success, and RIM decided to play the Curve game again and build in GPS
with the Curve 8310. Does it offer enough "bang" to upgrade? Find out after the jump.

The Curve 8310 still has the same 2.4 inch screen, the same killer keyboard, the same 2 megapixel camera, and the same thin and light form factor we've come to love. The major difference is that the 8310 has GPS functionality built-in provided by TeleNav and the Curve now comes in two colors, titanium and red. The $9.99 per month service allows you to get full GPS coverage with a standalone GPS, but brings it into the smartphone realm so you don't have to lug around two devices.

The 8310 still is a great phone, the call quality is excellent and the speakerphone is very loud. It's 2 megapixel camera is still the not the best, producing somewhat soft images both indoors and out. The media player is pretty basic, but it probably isn't the main use of such a business-oriented phone. We're still kind of wondering why the MicroSD card slot is still behind the battery though, but we're happy they stuck with the 3.5 mm headset jack (why get rid of it?).

Web surfing isn't the best experience, and doesn't offer the same formatting you would receive on say, an iPhone or your notebook computer.

Using the TeleNav GPS Navigator in the Sacramento area and it worked great. Some nice features were the ability to use the GPS in pedestrian mode, since it's much more portable than a regular GPS mode. We also liked that it asked for what route style we wanted: fastest, traffic optimized, shortest, prefer streets, prefer highway, or pedestrian.

One feature we would have liked on the 8310 is 3G support for high-speed data connectivity, are we still living in an EDGE world? Overall, the BlackBerry Curve line of devices still impresses us, from the unprecedented email capabilities, to the sleek design. If you don't need GPS however, stick with your current Curve 8300 until a larger upgrade becomes available. The BlackBerry Curve 8310 is available today from AT&T for $149 with a 2-year contract.

I really don't have anything negative to say about this item. I compared it side by side to a new phone and couldn't tell a difference aside from the color. If anyone is feeling skeptical about this, Don't. From a blackberry fanatic to another, this is a really great product. The picture quality is good the speaker phone works great, and the voice dialing is superb. Don't be fooled by imitators this is the real deal!

Good item, good price, i decided to buy this phone for my daughter, so she able to communicated with her mom, via internet chatting or messenger. also she will have her agenda, include daily agenda and everything task or duty from her school, so she doesn't loose any moment.

Well from the date of purchase it took about 3 weeks for my phone to arrive. Granted, a large portion of that time it was in US customs, which is completely out of chinasource's hands, but they did take a week or so just to ship it out. The phone arrived in perfect working condition, absolutely like new. The only complaint i would have otherwise is that the 2 batteries i was given with the phone are bad and only hold an hour or 2 of operation before they need to be re-charged. I haven't bought a replacement battery here in the states yet, so as of now i dont know if it's the phone or just faulty batteries (i'd assume the latter). The company itself was very helpful and quick with response to my questions. I would buy from this company again.

very good phone, but came with a damaged trackball, but i have already bought a new one by 2 dollars

I did not the fact it was not in the condition as stated . The buttons were old and barely visiable on the back arrow and forward arrow.

I love the phone, the only problem is that you didn't say that the battery would die after like a minute after you unplug it from the charger, but It's okay I'll buy a new battery, If you would have sent a new battery I would have paid for it, since this phone was bought due to me having to leave outside my own house and stay at my work place, I work for the state and need update on my emails and such plus I am about to go on a long trip, It's sad that I have to have it plugged to the the car charger. the phone works good when you have it plug in to the charger and I love it, I just wish like I said the battery is just what you said, you couldn't guarantee it, but you could of said, I will send a new battery for this much and I would have paid for it.... anyway thanks and you have a Good Thanksgiving.

cons: i had to call ATT and BB and was on the phone for more than 3 hours to remove restrictions that was on the device since the person before me had it as a "work phone" also the phone freeses alot

I wanted to go back to a Blackberry Curve but I didn't have an available upgrade to purchase it for another year through my service provider. I bought a slightly used phone and I am very happy with it. I consider this one of the best of the Blackberry's, definitely their workhorse.
