A Great Sequel

THe game takes place after the first game. After the civillians have grown a bit in technology and have become a little more self-supporting. If you've played the original you should be a bit happy that you don't have to gather so many trees just to build a decent city. The game features one of the best ways to build citys and roads, just drag and drop. You'll even be able to speed up building by grabbing trees and squeezing the wood or ore out onto a building.
Building great citys is the way to defeat your enemies if you wish to be good by lureing them in with all your majesty. Or if you prefer the evil approach you could always have the women constantly giving birth and build a grand army led by your creature to destroy the enemys, which seems to be a lot quicker.
Teaching the creature seems to be a little bit easier. For any action it has there is a slider bar as you punish or reward him that goes from never doing something to doing it too much. It is a lot easier to get the actions you want out of your creature in this game but it seems to have dumbed the AI that was so amazing in the previous one.
B&W2 boasts some amazing graphics, being able to zoom in to be able to see the ants running around on the ground and zoom out up into the clouds with amazing field of depth blurring and nice bloom effects is awesome. I would heavilly recommend a PCI-Express setup to be able to view the creatures and the world at a nicely detailed level, otherwise you might not be able to see the grass move along with your hand or all of your creatures fur.
I would also heavily recommend you patch the game before you start playing at all.
Pros:

- Decent replayability with good or evil and different creatures
- Fun mini-games, great design for building cities

This game has it all. Violence, storyline, scenarios, life, death, etc. It succeeds in giving you a sense of accomplishment and power while keeping you entertained for hours, days, and weeks.

It's a good game when you first start playing it, but after a while it just becomes tedious. Who knew being a god could be boring. Don't get me wrong it is a lot of fun for a while, i found playing it once a week is good, you don't have the time to get really sick of it. The graphics are par and the controls are good, it takes a long time for your creature to grow which is frustrating, but the fact that you can randomly set people on fire or toss them into oblivion is just freakin awesome! It's a good game, but after a while it gets tedious and a little boring.

As a religion major, it's very interesting to see the culmination of the game's programmer's portrayal of Polytheism in ancient times. The game appears to provide different aspects from each major religion around the time of 1,000 BCE. i.e. the various avatars (creatures), and the various views on influence and it's causal powers. I loved it!

I played the original B&W because it came free in a game pack I purchased. I didn't like the graphics but the gameplay got me addicted. This sequel is almost like B&W but with slightly better graphics and I'd say, better gameplay.

A Good Way of Killing Some TimeReview created: 08/04/09

This game is a little slow paced at first, but it gets progressively more difficult and a lot more fun. The trick is surviving the tutorials and the annoying narrators. Black & White 2 is cute and highly amusing, but consequently a little childish feeling. The game play is similar to many strategy games, especially Age of Empires, with the added aspect of having a pet-like minion. I would recommend B&W2 now that it has been out for a few years and the price is reduced, but it's not a game I would have wanted to pay the full price for. Get it for a bargain price if you're looking for something fun to keep you entertained for a week or so, but I wouldn't expect much more than that.

) Meh is the best way I can describe this game. Its not terrible but its not good either. It will give you a couple hours of fun until you just get tired of the frustrating controls and uneventful gameplay. Heres the good and the bad.
The Good
Original idea, not many god games on the market.
Like many Molyneux games you have a strong feeling of morale choice.
Creature AI is very entertaining.
War and casting spells can be very fun.
Several maps and races to play against.
The Bad
It can take a very very long time to win a level and it takes even longer if you decide to win through impressing people instead of war.
Troops take an ungodly amount of time to create whereas your enemy will pop them out like rabbits.
Your creature will sometimes completly disregard your orders.
very mediocre graphics for 2009 standards.
Annoying voice acting and whining from your subjects you will hear "We need food!" so much you will just turn off your sound.
Generally frustrating controls. You will often need to get to a place quickly but the controls spaz out and you will not get there in time.
Overall The game has a few very strong qualites but several annoying qualities. I wouldnt get it unless you were a huge fan of Black and White one.

It was ok... The pictures and ads for it made it seem alot better. They did some awsome upgrades but lost the fun from the first game. I would not buy this game again.

) This game is very fun, and is great for younger kids. I Like RPG, and that is exactly what it is. this take days to beat, well for me, I just wanted to enjoy it otherwise, it would take a few days. But after a while, you will get tired, and I did myself, so I never got to finish the last level. they repeat, so each level is the same, just gets harder. For what this game recommends for the system, the graphic s are pretty good. I recommend this for anyone, even smaller ones. I bought it because I saw the game play and thought it was worth the price I paid. GREAT GAME!

A fun game!
) I love the fact that unlike the first B&W you are given more freedom to do as you wish. The game is not extremely challenging as the AI could be more difficult, however, sometimes it is nice to simply put the time into a game and be rewarded for it. Graphics are good, however, no where near the newest technology.
