Back in Black! Ted Dekker has really done it this time.

After reading Thr3e, this book series finished sealed my fate as a Dekker fan. In Black: The Birth of Evil, the first novel of The Circle Trilogy, the character, Hunter wakes up in a world that is somehow parallel to ours. His destiny is to save ours, but will he survive the other one? Mixing writers, C.S. Lewis or J.R.R. Tolkein with Robert Ludlum (The Hades Factor) starring Chuck Norris and Jet Lee comes a blockbuster story that probes the soul and penetrates the heart like no other novel I’ve known. I drive a truck and listen to a lot of audio, this one kept the truck moving. If you get the audio version, the unabridged version is a must have. Rob Lamont does an outstanding job performing the narration, together him and Dekker make an unbeatable team.

Part 1 of a roller coaster ride of a trilogy - GREAT!

Black begins The Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker. Man what a mind this guy has.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I began this book; it was the first book by Ted Dekker that I had read. I am now a true Ted Dekker fan and have started reading the rest of his books.
This book begins the story of a man that wakes in another world when he sleeps in this world. A virus is about to ravage mankind here, while in the other world, evil is being released on the people of another time. The story is much a metaphor for the birth of evil in the garden of eden; but do not be afraid to read this if you are not a christian. It is a wonderful story by a christian author, but it does not push the christian message; more so, it just maintains a clean (no cursing, etc.) layout that can be enjoyed by anyone.
The story is absolutely incredible and I jumped right into book 2 of the trilogy as soon as I was done with this one.
An absolutely incredible story with perfect suspense, creative character development and never ending action.
If you are even reading this review because you think you may be interested in this trilogy, READ THIS BOOK!

  Black- By Ted Dekker
Review created: 08/07/06

Ted Dekker keeps you spellbound from the very beginning to the end of this book. The beginning of concepts that have you turning page after page, and continue to be mesmerized by the next chapter as you were from page one. Does a series of books get any better...I don't think so. I decided to purchase this book on CD so that my friend who is losing their vision could enjoy the books that I could not put down once I started.
