Black & Decker PHV1800 Handheld Cleaner

This is a great mini vac. Strong and powerful, easy to clean and folds for charging or storage. This is way better than the more common dustbuster type mini vac.

I purchased this vacuum after reading many great reviews it received. One of those reviews in Consumer Report Magazine. I think my expectations were too high. Vacuums works fine, but the dust keeps on getting out through the "suction pipe" every time I am putting it down to recharge. I find it messy and I wish I found a better model. It also gets stuck on pet hair and that one number one reason i purchased it as it was supposed to be great for that purpose. It isn't!

I have a Dyson DC16 that the battery needed to be replaced. I really liked this vacuum. The problem was that a battery is 50 to 70 dollars. So I looked at reviews and found the Black and Decker PHV1800. I purchased this vacuum and love it. The suction is much better than the Dysons (which I thought was great), and the price for the complete vac was cheaper than the battery for the Dyson. Dyson is a good product, but if they want to stop loosing customers, they need to think about what they are doing (driving away past customers). So if Your thinking about buying a hand held vacuum, I would recommend the Black and Decker PHV1800. I think You will find it to be worthy. As the quality and performance is great, as well as the price.

I love it because it:

can be left on charger without worry.
has the best suction I ever found.
folds up to a neat little package.
has a little brush for upholstery.

Bought it beacuase it was the highest rated costs almost as much as low end upright but its powerful. I have not used it a long time yet or emptied it yet but it is very powerful THIS is not a lightweight dustbuster - the slit is a little small and I havent tried the extensions et - it is heavier than others (I have hand issues otherwise its fine)VERY LOUD - it is probably the strongest for the money

I bought this item because it was a consumer reports recommended hand vac. Love it. Powerful, light, and easy to use.

I’ve used a lot of cordless vacuums in the past and in my humble opinion, they all lack power. I pretty much gave up on cordless, but this one seems to work well. It’s nothing compared to a plug in, but I’m impressed with the size, weight and cleaning power. It’s perfectly usable for small clean ups around the house, and decent at cleaning the car between the once a year thorough vacuum cleanings.

I like this handheld vacuum because it is easy to use. It's very powerful. I can do a quick vacuum around all my baseboards and steps without running out of battery power. Also, the vacuum folds in half so it doesn't take up too much space when it's charging. The filter is conveniently located so it's easy to remove for emptying/cleaning.

Pivot design allows compact space storage. Powerful as indicated in the Consumer Review magazine (where I first heard about this product).

Hand-held vacuum easy to access small spaces and great for quick pickup jobs. Unit is lite and easy to operate.

Well, I love the fact that I got the vacuum cleaner from the seller at such a great price... I had done quite some research to make sure that this is the best hand held vacuum cleaner in market today and then, bought it from this seller $10 lower than I could find anywhere... Received it.. well packaged.. and works great.. just as expected.!!

The product is at least $20 cheaper than buying it from a local store. It shipped on time. The Vac works great.

I bought the vacuum after using a friend's one day. It had such suction for a hand held and it was cordless. The pivoting head was a plus to me and one attachment is built on the vacuum it's self. Other hand helds just don't have the suction power of this machine, even B&D models. It has a rechargeable battery, you just set it in the base stand and it will be ready for the next time you need it. Now the cons I guess would be it's size compared to others I have owned it is larger and also weighs more. I feel of all the hand helds I've owned this is the best by far that I have to date. I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a powerful hand held.

This little handheld vacuum is the best of all what we have used so far. It sucks very well and has no trouble with dog hair at all. We love how the power can last quite long, not like our old ones that got weaker and weaker very fast during a short session. We do think it could be improved though: the exhaust aims downwards and kind of blowing dust on the ground area around it. If it aimed away instead it would be a perfect helper. This issue is actually common for all the handheld vacuum we've known of. We wish Black & Decker will look into improving it.
