The G.703 Codirectional converter can convert between the G.703 codirectional (line) interface, used by many types of high-speed PCM (pulse-code modulation) devices, and any of several standard data-communication interfaces used by computers, terminals, and modems. The converter does data-rate conversion as well. What if your PCM equipment is at the other end of the site? No problem. The converter can communicate across a long G.703 cable. It can also transmit to and receive from the standard maximum distance for its non-G.703 interface. The converter also supports a full range of diagnostic test options.
