Black Books - The Complete Series 1 (DVD, 2006)

This is an AWSOME show...the characters, the writing, everything is EXCELLENT! I was laughing soooo hard. They ran the series on BBC America for a few weekends and I was hooked...want the 2nd and 3rd Season NOW!!!

i bought it because i saw a few episodes of it on bbc america and i thought it was a funny show. i now have the first two series and hope to get series three soon. i love the actors on the show. all three are pretty funny comedians. i would recommend this to anyone who likes british comedy.

I bought "Black Books" so that I could see it uncut and for the extras. I just wish it had the 2nd series

The first episode turned me off a bit because the characters seemed so...well, static; however, after finishing the first series I can honestly say that they certainly grew on me. The plot is enjoyable and I'm thinking of buying the second series. If you've seen it before and enjoyed it, I would recommend buying the complete series to save money, rather that buying all three series separately.

I bought this after borrowing from the library. Haven't watched a sit-com that has made me laugh like this.. ever! I rarely buy DVDs but had to have in my collection it was so bloody good. There is nothing to dislike about this series. Drinking, smoking, and rudeness with no apologies. Awesome!

I normally do not purchase DVDs. The exception is when I can watch a video over and over and it still makes me laugh. Black Books is well written and the characters are likeable (albeit silly). Too bad the series did not last more than a few seasons.
