A Bit of Fry and Laurie- Season One
Review created: 09/04/06(updated 09/05/06)

We had been intrigued by High Laurie and Stephen Fry as we had seen their work in "Jeeves and Wooster", "Black Adder", and were familiar with Hugh Laurie's fine work in "House MD"
We purchased and watched this DVD about three times. It consists of a number of uproariously funny skits, original songs, etc. which poke fun at every aspect of life and culture. Although much of their humor relates most directly to Britain, anyone who enjoys farcical humor, such as Fawlty Towers, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Red Dwarf etc. will be amused by elements of their performances for quite some time.
This DVD is not appropriate to young children as there are veiled references to homosexuality, however these references are not overly vulgar and are on occasion, affectionate. Stephen Fry is openly homosexual and is apparently comfortable enough to notice and comment upon the amusing and the incongruous. (I have a friend who is heartbroken over this, as she considers Stephen Fry to be the perfect man, as evidenced by his work in Jeeves and Wooster.)
This DVD would be treasured by anyone who enjoys contemporary British culture, farcical humor, British humor, heady humor, Stephen Fry's other works, Hugh Laurie's other works, etc. It lightened our week considerably.
