The Birth Book by Martha Sears, William Sears (1994, Paperback)

I bought this book after having borrowed it from the library. It has so much information in it that I knew I would want to read it again and again.
I really like that this book has lots of information, and is informative without being pushy or one sided. As it seems there are two sides to giving birth, the medical side and the natural side.
This book does lean towards natural birthing but more than anything gives tips to having a SATISFYING birth, with or without medical intervention ie. drugs/c-sections etc.
I highly recomend this for anyone who is about to have a baby whether it's your first or fifth. This will be my second child and I'm excited to put to use all the information that I've learned in this book.

I really liked this book! After reading it I ended up for the most part sticking to the same "birth plan" I had before, but with new confidence and drive. The book tells you all your options, and focuses on helping you make the best choices for YOU. A very well written book.

I bought this book on June 10 and haven't received it yet. I have contacted the seller 2 times and havent heard back a thing... so don't really have a review on the book yet only on the seller...POOR!!!

This book was really helpful in preparing me for labor. Most "pregnancy" books only have a small chapter or section at the end about labor. This book is mostly about labor, so it's full of information regarding what to expect, what can help, and what can hinder your labor. I now try to get this book for baby showers whenever I can.

Every pregnant mom needs this book! this book gave me the information i needed about labor and delivery - which in turn took away the fear that moms-to-be sometimes have! this book will give you the confidence to take control of your birth experience, and make it something that you have control over, instead of letting it and the hospitol have control over you and possibly make you end up in a decision made by greedy hospitol staff. this book gives new moms the support they need to stand up for their rights and wishes! :D information is good! :D

Another great book for practicing nurses, doulas, and others interested in child birth! VERY helpful! Wish I would have had this resource for my own birthing experience!
