Consisting of Greg Kurstin (all instruments except horns) and Inara George (vocals, and daughter of late Little Feat guitarist Lowell George), Bird and the Bee craft sleek, refined pop songs rich with edgy humor, all seductively conveyed by George's distinctively cool, feathery voice. With its elegant mix of alt-rock catchiness (think Blondie, XTC, Stereolab) and some Brazilian bossa nova touches, THE BIRD AND THE BEE is a noteworthy debut disc.
