I was happy with the price and the book came fast to my door. I will deal with book store again. This was a gift for someone and when she recived it she used it right off. She had a bird she didn't know and went to the book and found out which bird it was. I have been trying to find the book in other well know stores and it had to go into reprint. So Thank-you

As a backyard birder, it has long been my goal to identify birds by their songs. This book is going to make that a reality. Each of the 250 birds shown have a beautiful color picture, short description and song taken from the Cornell University Lab of Ornithology. Many of the pictures are full page and I couldn't be more happy with this book. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching and learning about birds. It is fantastic!

I purchased this book for my mother for Christmas and the whole family loves it. It is a great starter book for birdwatchers. Hearing the recordings of specific birds is helpful in identifying what to look for while hiking or just sitting in the yard. It has been worth every penny! The color illustrations are nice as well, and the write up on each bird is more thorough than many field guides.

This is an excellent learn-at-home auditory guide to bird calls. It's easy to use--you simply type in the number which appears beside the picture of the bird to hear that bird's call repeated three times. The book is not useful as a field tool, as it is large and a bit cumbersome. Also, this particular edition is defective in that the number listed in the index for a given bird does not always match the number beside the picture of that bird. Consequently, you have to leaf through the book to find the correct number, instead of being able to look it up in the index. (This problem has likely been corrected in more current editions.)

Very Educational and a lot of fun.

Volume is still valuable even if the audio is not working.

This is such a great book! There are over 200 beautiful drawings and actual recorded songs of different birds from all over the United States. After finding a picture of a bird you would like to hear, you then push the botton to take you the the corresponding page number. Push the button again and you get to hear the lovely call that that bird makes. I have never seen (or heard) a more excellent book on birds.

This is a wonderful book. I got one for my mother several years ago and she loves it. She will get it out a listen to the bird songs for hours. Each bird is beautifully illustrated with information about each bird. When you are reading bout the birds you and also listen to the bird's song. Great book for children that are learning about birds. This copy is a Christmas present for my great niece. She loved my mother's so much that she is getting one for her own.

I purchased this book for my mother. I have a copy myself and have enjoyed it so much. There have been times when I have heard a bird around my house or out camping and have wondered what it is. This book has helped me ID it. My children also enjoy it. It has provided much entertainment over the about two years I have had it. It is easy to use. The only thing I don't like about this book is that to use the index you must know the exact name of the birds. For example you must look up "Northern Cardinal" rather than cardinal. The bird songs book was exactly what I wanted. It came in a reasonable time.

What a great book! I love being able to identify birds by their songs and this book helps a great deal. The song is clear and easy to hear since it is isolated from surrounding sounds unlike other tapes I have tried to listen to before. The pictures are representative of the birds and fun to look at. I do wish there was more information about the birds on each page. I have to get out my other bird books to find distribution maps and migration routes. All and all I would highly recommend this book. It is entertaining and educational. My kids and I love it.

I purchased this book at our local bookstore last year for a young girl that was diagnosed with cancer and was to be in the hospital for several months. She loved it. Her family said it gave her hours of enjoyment. My mother in law loves to feed the birds and watch her feeders. I went to buy her one for Christmas and was told they could not get anymore. I found it then on ebay and got it for a fraction of the cost of the first one. In excellent condition. Very happy!
