Birchbark Canoes of the Fur Trade by Timothy J. Kent (1997, Paperback)

This 2 volume book is a great gift to those of us who are interested in birch bark canoes & the history of them. The cross over into the fur trade related to these canoes makes it even more gratifying to me. Once again Mr. Kent has written a very detailed, thoroughly researched book, loaded with footnotes and references that leaves no doubt as to it's accuracy. Beyond Tappen Adney's book this one details the fur trade era history that really created their Golden Age. Well done.
