Biology by Jane B. Reece, Neil A. Campbell (2004, Package)

The book arrived on time and it was brand new, not even unwrapped. However the only problem was that the seller did not tell me that edition of the book was international. The seller was very nice and willing to take it back. I kept the book because I thought it was the same as original version.

This is the text I used in college, and I now use it to plan science lessons as a teacher. It is very easy to use, comprehensive, and the pictures, models, charts, and examples are wonderful.

It's pretty good, easy to follow, I used it for AP Biology my junior year in high school and for my intro bio in college.

I had to buy this book for a biology class I'm in. It mostly focuses on the later chapters in the book which can be very difficult to read and very redundant at times with certain subject matter. However, in the long run, I think this is a very good book. There is a lot of good information in it and the first half of the book looks excellent. There is a lot of great review information for me, someone who hasn't taken biology in a while, which makes the class easier for me.

The book is soft cover, I mean it is very heavy itself and imagine having a hard cover, that's what my whole class have but I got the soft cover version which is exactly like the hard cover one, pages numbers, pictures, table of content, everything is exactly the same as the book I need for my biology class and it is soft cover so I really like it because it is lighter, still heavy though. The books is very new, CDs are all in there, no one wrote on it, so I pretty much bought a brand new book for a lower price.

And the reason why I decide to buy it is because my class NEEDs the book, haha, and this is the cheapest one I can get off the shelve so I picked this one.

I bid on this book because my son needed it for school. However, I didn't receive the book. I was totally scammed by the seller. I followed through on my committment by paying for the book. However, the seller didn't take paypal. I felt obligated to pay for the book because I was the highest bidder and had entered into a contract, so I sent him a cashier's check...he did have 100% positive feedback at the time. This seller now has negative 15 (at last count) and it is quite obvious he was out to scam many people at the same time, apparently he got away with it. I don't know the status of my dispute, because eBay is protecting this person, like they say they protect all eBayers. However, I was not protected, because I lost $73.03 and have absolutly no recourse to get my money back....does not make sense to me.
To make things worse, eBay keeps sending me emails to contact the seller and try to work things out....what a joke....I have sent numerous emails....he does not reply, I have also tried to call, his voicemail box was never set up. So buyer beware...if they do not take paypal, do not do business with them. EBay should not let anyone without paypal do business, period!

Good book because it has lots of quality photos and diagrams. Includes way more than you actually need to know (typical of science texts). I am a senior and a biology major. This book covers two of the hardest bio courses students take. (they are designed to weed out the half-hearted souls) Lots to study...better start reading!

I purchased the book June 1st. Today is July 6th and I haven't receive the book as yet. Whenever I try to leave a note for the seller, a message comes up that the person is on vacation. I am presently in summer class and needed the book, I had to purchase another book when I had already paid for one.

I assume if you are reading this review you want to know what is IN this book and how easy it is to understand, so here goes:
As you might expect, this one starts off with a basic intro, explaining what Biology covers and this is pretty general, explaining the basics. Next, there are sections on The Cell (plant and animal cells), photosynthesis, biological diversity, genetics, etc. It is a fine book and those taking Biology classes who have the perseverence to stick with it will certainly learn quite a lot. Some may find it hard to understand, however.
Now, a few words about HOW the book is written. The language is detailed, even complex, so you may need a good dictionary on hand. Access to biology sites online, those with definitions, will be a plus. This is NOT an easy read but if you stick with it, you'll get the basics - and more. There are sections which review key concepts and these are excellent study aids.

The book has everything except for all the self quizzes at the end of the chapters. If you need the self quizzes for exams, I suggest you get the US edition. I needed them and had to get them from other people.

The book was in great coondition, fast shipping. Had to buy it for school, and saaved a lot of money by doing so on ebay.

This book is alright, its not the best Bio book I have experienced, but it portrays a lot of information. I bought the book for my Biology class and it was slightly helpful in learning the material.

Campbell himself is descriptive. Most of the information in the textbook is not needed for the classes I was taking, but buying the full text is very helpful since you find yourself looking back to it now and again. Most of the half textbooks of this full textbook will end up to costing more than the full textbook accompanied w/ its study guide.

I needed this book for a Biology class & it arrived just in time for the new semester even though I ordered it late. I got this book 1/2 price from ebay than from the school store. Thanks!

It came exactly as expected and very quickly! It was cheaper than all the rest of the books that were the same exact things. I got the internetional edition because it said it was exactly the same as the other one and it was. I mean everything is exactly the same. The only fifference is that the cover of the one I recieved is a soft cover and the others are hard, but that is nothing to worry about.

The book was in great contition but was paperback and in black and white. I was expecting color and hardback.

I really like the fact that this book cost much less than its' national counterpart. My school bookstore was selling this book for about $180 U.S brand new and around $120 U.S used. I only paid about $73-$74 brand new with the cd that comes with the national edition, and that is including shipping. That is major savings especially when I have more than one class to take which means more than one book to buy. It is a soft cover as opposed to a hard cover, but to me that makes no difference. I can't think of anything that I didn't like about it besides the fact that I was worried that it would not be the same exact book as the national edition when I ordered it. But that feeling quickly subsided when I received the book and it was an exact replica, besides the fact that it says international edition on the cover and it is a soft cover. I am extremely satisfied with this book and would (and probably will) buy another international edition when I start another semester.

Good Book! But my professors don't think that it is a college level textbook. Therefore, they expect us to go above and beyond studying the text. Wasn't really worth the money I spent, for this reason.

This biology book is very easy to follow. It is very descriptive so, it's helps in keeping you focused and it doesn't confuse you. I bought this book for a class and so far it's been the easy to understand.

She's great! She forgot the cd that came with the book and still remembered to send it to me when she got to school, it was much appreciated.

I am totally not satisfy this item and the seller. This item was introduced as hard copy edition, but finally I got the PDf edition, which is like a ebook. And the worst thing is this is unauthorized. As you can see, it is a rough photocopy, and then save it as PDF format. The other worst thing is the seller. She, or whoever that is, is a greatest cheater I have ever seen. I was complaining to her for too mant times. Since I bought two items of these, she threaten me that I must left her a position feedback, then she would refund one of the items to me. However, finally, of course she didn't do it.

After that, I sought help from ebay. That is totally useless. I don't think I will have any confidence in ebay.

I still have not received this book and I am two weeks into class now with no book. Seller has not responded to my attempts to contact and I filed a claim with Ebay and still it has not been resolved. This has been a bad experience and now I still need my money back to get the book.
