The most complete, reliable, up-to-date compendium of data on binary alloy systems, collected from a variety of sources within the ASM/NIST Data Program, as well as from non-Program sources. The present volumes represent the second, very substantially enlarged edition of the original compendium published in 1986. The first edition listed information on 1,915 binary systems. In the present 3-volume edition, this number has been expanded to nearly 3,000 binary systems. Each Program entry may consist of the assessed phase diagram, which has been digitized at ASM International; an abridged version of the complete text published in the Bulletin of alloy phase diagrams or in one of the binary monographs (or submitted for publication); a special points table; a crystal structure table; and a list of selected key references on which the phase diagram has been based. Also included are several compilations of tabulated data on the pure elements, crystal structure designations, some thermodynamic quantities, etc. These represent the latest compiled values and sources.
