amazing book,couldn't put it down.great from start to finish.one of the best most detailed books i have read in a long time.if your a billy gibbons or a zz top fan,you'll find out that you didn't know a fraction about them until you read this book.

Bought this as a gift for my brother, nearly kept it for myself. If you can imagine that the frontman for ZZ Top, has a few stories hidden behing his long beard and dark glasses, this is a must read. Excellent photos of some of the most renowned cars and guitars, from his eclectic collection and even better history or thier existance.

I've been lookin' to hook me one of these for a while, but sein' as I'm here in England and the books seem to be in the States.... It just took a while to get it on, as the sayin' goes! But to quote B F G himself.... "I've really enjoyed gettin' it on!".....
The book itself? Hell, it's a monster (got it right here now!).... Eleven inches by twelve and a quarter inches by an inch! One hundred and ninety two pages, in colour. A rare insight into the man's lifelong passions fer classic custom guitars n cars, all captured in some brilliant photo's and a band history of (who else!) ZZ TOP!!!! Helped here n there by a few foxy friends to add a little spice! Like you're surprised? Have you not seen the videos? If not what the hell are doin' here, stop reading and do some homework! You'll see the ELINATOR, and a few of the guitars too! Try YOU TUBE, and grab a beer while you're there!
Then when you've found out what yer missin'.... This book is gonna be what you need! Money well spent in my eyes anyhow!

Very good book!! Covers a great guitar players life history with many many pictures of his musical instrument and hotrod collection.A must read for ZZ Top fans!

Very enjoyable book for the dedicated fan/guitarist of Billy Gibbons and that "little ol' band from Texas".
Great photos all the way but especially of the guitars(first time "pearly gates" in so much visual detail).
I particularly enjoyed the archive photos of the band and the detailed photos of the guitars that were used in the albums of the first period (pre MTV) of the band,which are classic items and the information on where each one was used in the albums or songs.
The book is divided in three sections.
The first one is about the story of how everything started for Billy Gibbons,his first guitar,band (or bands for that matter),shows,contracts,recordings,etc.to how all that evolved into Z.Z.Top up until now.
If you,like me, read the reviews that Billy gave over the years to magazines like "Guitar player","Guitar World","Guitarist" and so on,you still have some new details to learn from this book,which makes it interesting and enjoyable to read.
Second part of the book is about the guitars.This is the part that have a lot of info about the instruments that Billy used over the years plus a lot of information on custom made instruments that he designed,with photos and the stories behind them.
The third and final part is about the cars he owns,mostly customized vehicles,each one with a nice story to back up its existence and state and awesome photos.
I won't lie to you this was the less interesting part for me ,but then again that's me,a guy that don't really like customizing very much.
The photos of this section as I mentioned are awesome!!! I mean they are so good that you could use them at an exhibition easily! So hats off to the ones responsible for that.
Well that's about it,a very enjoyable book to read or just gaze at while you are having a drink or listen to some music ("asleep in the desert" works particularly well as a backing track),or both,plus it really looks good on your coffee table,you know the one you have in your living room...

This is a must for all gearhead'z and guitarist as myself ! The texas blues of the early years til now of Mr. Billy F. Gibbons of the legendary ZZ Top share's his lust of Car's and Guitar's and stories of yester year ! I would recommend this book to all that love the music custom car's and Hogzilla and sme sweet guitar's !
