Big Russ and Me by Tim Russert (2004, Hardcover)

Most of you know Tim Russert for his role as moderator on "Meet the Press." I now feel like I know him and his father as two wonderful men. Mr. Russert's memories of things his father taught him is very vivid.
He has a great knack for sharing his life, humorous or poignant. He graciously allowed us into his life as he shared his thoughts, experiences and even first-hand account of everything from the Buffalo Bills string of Super Bowl losses to meeting the Pope, to meeting his wife for the first time.
Tim Russert and "Big Russ" as his dad is affectionately named, are two people you need to get to know. Check out the book. It's a must read.

Anyone who has had a father that truly loves them will love this book. By love, Big Russ had to show and little tough love and let Tim screw up to learn about life. Instead of blaming anybody or anything else for Tim's mistakes, as is the case sometimes today, he made Tim into a man by letting life's good and bad experiences wash over him. Terrific reading, if you are raising a son.

I checked this book out at my local library and loved it. I thought it would be a good book to give my Father for Father's Day. I grew up in Rochester, NY and Tim Russert's book is about his life in Buffalo. We both are about the same age and catholic. I could relate to everything he wrote; it was like looking back on my own life. I loved the book and was happy to purchase it on Ebay for my Dad.

It came in time to give as a gift, but when the person opened the "like new" book and turned to the inner page with a previous inscription on it, I was very embarressed. In the future, this should be disclosed on the write up AND I will ALWAYS look the entire book over from cover to cover before handing out as a gift.

I bought this book as a gift for my dad, but read it before giving it to him. It's mainly about Tim Russert's experiences growing up in Buffalo, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has lived in the area. There are a few slow parts, and he sometimes stretches to relate some of his stories back to his relationship with his dad. But overall it's very well written, and pretty funny at times.

I was very sadisfied with the book. Itwas in excellent condition, and I received it promptly. Thanks for great service.

This is a wonderfully poignant book, written by a lovely man with so much love for his father. Tim Russert was a very gifted writer. His time here on Earth was much, much too short.

I'm sure glad to have found a copy of this book. My mother in law wanted it for her birthday and I couldn't find one (re-prints). So I tried and tried to order one through a local bookstore and they said it would take weeks, maybe months to get a copy. Then, I turned to the internet. THANK GOD! It was brand new and she loved it!

Tim Russert was a terrific guy and his love for his Dad and his Buffalo community is a joy to read about. What an awful loss that Tim is gone, for Luke and Maureen, his Dad, and his family and friends, and for the nation. His honesty and integrity, and his pure joy for life are sadly missed by all of us, he will never be replaced.

I decided to buy this book because it is sigened by Tim Russert. This is a excellent book to read. It is as you read it it is like Tim Russert reading it to you. I highley recamend this to anybody who like a good book.

Because it was by Tim Russert a very talented individual Very down home well written.His life was truly filled with pleasant factual memories.Next will be The Wisdom of Our Fathers.

The purchase of this book was for a friend who thought a lot of Tim Russert. She enjoyed the book although it was not as much as expected about Tim Russert in later lifeas she had hoped. I did not read the book myself.
