Beyond the Season by Garth Brooks (CD, Aug-1992, Capitol Nashville Records)

No matter who's doing the singing, most Christmas albums have the same ol' same ol' that we've all heard countless times at Christmas parties, in department stores, on Christmas movies and the radio from the end of November to the end of December. As a former salesperson in a retail store who had to listen to those songs 8 hours a day, six days a week, it's a wonder I can stand any Christmas music at all. At least with Garth you get a talented singer and some great versions of the same ol' same ol'. My personal favorite on the album is 'Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy'. This is the only single artist Christmas album I own and I think it will stay that way.

Liked it; wanted Christmas songs by Garth Brooks. Haven't had time to really listen to it. First run was good!

Bought this as a christmas present. Couldn't find in store and found this on ebay. Seller got it to me in one day. The CD was in great shape.

I had this CD and it was lost in a fire along with many others. Until I started looking on ebay I didn't think that I was going to replace some of the CDs that I lost. The price was great, the shipping punctual and the condition was excellent. Hope that I can find more bargind like this one.

I OWNED THIS CD SEVERAL YEARS AGO, AND I LOST IT SOMEHOW. (TRUTHFULLY, I THINK MY TEENAGE KIDS AT THE TIME, AND/OR THEIR FRIENDS TOOK IT, BECAUSE A COUNTRY WESTERN SINGER AT THAT TIME WASN'T 'COOL!) I had been looking for this CD for a while now and was very happy with the purchase. I received the CD in a timely fashion and it was just as described. Wonderful CD for anyone who loves Christmas music.

Was thrilled to get it and in time for the church christmas program i was directing, just needed a cd instead of tape. The Friendly Beasts is presented in a different way than I had heard it before. I love this cd. Quick shipping was recevied in great condition. Can't say thank enough. When I found out it was no longer available and I couldn't download it I was in a panic. No one had one I could borrow.

I mainly bought this cd for one song that I couldn't find anywhere else. There were several good songs on the album.

This collection of Christmas tunes by country superstar Garth Brooks reflects his Christian faith and traditional values. Brooks fans will enjoy hearing Christmas standards delivered in the pure country voice they so admire. He approaches these songs with earnestness and reverence, concentrating on songs that are mostly about the birth of Christ, as opposed to chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
Brooks supplies his own arrangements for several of the album's traditional songs including "Go Tell it on the Mountain" and "What Child is This", which are both bolstered by a swelling gospel choir. While Brooks takes a heartfelt approach to songs such as "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", he does loosen upon a few numbers: the fiddle-charged Buck Owens/Don Rich composition "Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy" and on "The Old Man's Back in Town", which he co-wrote. The simplicity of his version of the standard "White Christmas" makes it stand outfrom some the some of the more lush arrangements on BEYOND THE SEASON.

I wanted this cd for the song The Gift. It has great Christmas songs on it. I appreciate the seller for getting it to me so quickly. Thanks!

The Cd is in great condition & it came very quickly so I was able to give it to my Dad for Christmas, now it is all he listens to in his truck!!

Been wanting this cd since losing my old copy. CD was in super condition, and jewel case was as if it were newly minted. Seller did what he said he was going to do, was on time and accurate. Couldn't have asked for more.

I personaly am a huge fan of Garth Brooks and I love his style. It is up beat different and close to traditional country music. Garth Brook's "Beyond The Season" is one of the best Christmas CD's I have heard in a long time. I would give it 4 thumbs up! I encorage someone to defently try getting this CD for someone else or them selfs. God BLESS!

Santa Looked a lot Like Daddy has never really been my favorite song, but I love all of the other songs on this album. You can't find it in stores so I'm really glad that I was able to purchase it on half.com. My favorite song is the gift. The item arrived quickly and just as described. I generally stick with traditional Christmas carols, but for this album, I make an exception because it is so well done. An excellent purchase!

This CD was in excellent condition. It arrived very promptly. I bought it on eBay because I couldn't find it in stores. I wanted to teach my Sunday School class the song "The Friendly Beasts" for a Christmas pagenat, and I knew that CD had the song on it. It was very helpful for teaching, and I've enjoyed the other songs on the CD.

This is a hard to find CD. I have the cassette, but wanted the CD in case the tape ever broke in the cassette.

I bought this CD on Ebay because I listened to it every Christmas years ago but only had a dubbed cassette of it - not great quality! Then a couple years ago my husband and I were making Christmas cookies late into the night and he started dancing around the kitchen with me to "Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy", and more memories were formed! My only complaint is that it is not a very long CD, less than 40 minutes. Other than that, I think it is a fun and touching Christmas CD!

THIS CD HAS NOT BEEN IN STORES IN YEARS. I BOUGHT THE ALBUM ON CASSETTE YEARS AGO BUT I COULDN'T FIND IT ANYMORE. BEYOND THE SEASON IS ONE OF THE VERY BEST CHRISTMAS CD'S I HAVE EVER OWNED. IT IS TOTALLY WORTH YOUR TIME TO BUY AND ENJOY THIS ONE.

I love the diversity of the songs on the cd; my children love the hymn of the animals and the song of the little girl Maria. It is not the average Christmas cd and we just love it!

I bought this CD because I have had the cassette and thouroughly enjoyed each year and I wanted to get it in CD form. It is one of my favorite Christmas CD's.
