Beyond the Sea [Digipak] by Original Soundtrack (CD, Nov-2004, Rhino Records USA)

John Wilson's 73-piece orchestra performs 18 of Bobby Darin's hit songs while Kevin Spacey sings, literally performing a grand impersonation of the once great performer. Spacey also directs "Beyond the Sea," a biopic of Darin's career & life. These 18 tracks were recorded in Abbey Road studio, London, England.

When I studied the filmography & first realized that Kevin Spacey had done all of the singing, I was floored! Who knew Spacey had this facet of talent up his sleeve? I remain impressed by Spacey's rendition of Darin on the following tracks:

Great Movie. Kevin Spacey fans should add this to their collection. Bobby Darin fans should add this to their collection. The music is wonderful. Kevin Spacey did it all...directed, played a key role and even sang in his own voice!

relaxing music and Bobby Darin's music touches the heart. He wrote most of the songs on the cd from his life's experience. The song "We don't want war was written about Vietnam but could fit today.

Well, I had to pause the cd to write this. It's positivly wonderful!! It shows off both Keven Spacey's talents and Bobby Darin's. Beware, the songs will get stuck in your head for days. But you'll be happy!

A picture that takes us back to when movies were made for enjoyment and to make people feel good. In my opinion this is one of the best pictures I have watched in years. Truly a wonderful musical and story of a great entertainer.

The movie was great and Kevin Spacey was amazing as Bobby Darin. I recommed this cd and movie for that matter to any fan of one of the greatest entertainers ever Bobby Darin.
