The book was purchased for my husband who loves anything to do with Band of Brothers. I knew he had not read this book, and when he got it, he was elated. He read it cover to end in no time flat. The seller was a pleasure to deal with. Loved everything about the purchase.

If you liked the HBO series Band Of Brothers, you will like this extended in-depth account of Easy Company. All of the HBO series episodes are true and accurate as told by Major Dick Winters.

After watching Band of Brothers on HBO, I purchased the book to get more of the inside information that was not shown on the movies. Additionally, I wanted to get more information on Dick Winters. The book proved to be a great outlet to give me such information, and I am very pleased. As far as the purchase itself, it went very smooth and arrived in great condition. I do recommend this book to anyone who loved the HBO series and wants to continue learning about Maj. Winters and EZ Company.

Band of Brothers was good but reading the accounts of Richard Winters by Richard Winters. This book was even better because it wasn't fictionalized. It's easy to read and harder to put down. I admire and appreciate the members of the 101st Airborne Division and all of our military that put their lives on the line daily. For Band of Brother fans this book is a must.

Why I bought Beyond Band of Brothers

I first read this book when i borrowed it from my dad, which was sometime after reading Band of Brothers and seeing the mini series. Like many other people in the world i fell in love with the story and wanted more. i found it in this book. reading about the exploits of easy company and it's commander Major Dick Winters was alot of fun. the book's easy to read and exciting. Reading about Major Winters was also really cool because of his high morals and the way he only does things if they are the right decision. His time in the military was spent very well, with high standards. i am proud of him for being able to recount his whole army experience without being ashamed that someone would read about what he did later. i decided to buy it because i saw it on ebay for alot less money than a book store like Barnes and Nobles would sell it to me. the only thing i have found do dislike about this book, and it isn't much, is the use of language. there were several cuss words in it that i try not to use in my daily life, but as i know that putting it in a book about the army is realistic, i overlooked it and crossed it out on my pages.

  Beyond Band of Brothers

I purchased this book as a "bookend" to Band of Brothers by Stephen Ambrose and The Biggest Brother by Larry Alexander. Though Band of Brothers offers a broader picture of Easy Company and The Biggest Brother is written by a professional journalist, Beyond Band of Brothers offers one man's personal insights into leadership and valuable insights they are, indeed. As an Army officer for "the duration," Major Winters exemplified professionalism--and heroism--of the highest order and expressed dissatisfaction with the breakdown of discipline at the end of the war as well as rampant careerism within the officer corps. A return to the virtues he espouses rather than getting one's "ticket punched" for the sake of advancement would do much to improve the competence of those in leadership positions everywhere. For that reason, it should be recommended reading in the military services and business schools of the nation.

This is truely a must have for those who have taken to heart, the stories of the men of easy company. There are not only Richard Winter's thoughtful insights to the stories you've already heard, but truely amazing stories that you haven't. Awesome!!!!

  A nice perspective

I grew up watching WWII vets carry on their adult lives in peace time. This book is a nice perspective on what they did not discuss. Dick Winters has a poetic flair to his story that mixes his first hand account as well as a perspective of a philosopher removed that makes it very readable. If you liked the "Band of Brothers" series on HBO; you will enjoy this fine book.

  Better than BoB

I actually liked this book better than Ambrose's book. It tells the same story but goes into more depth and personal accounting of the subject.

First I have the utmost respect for this generation of Heroes. I admire Dick Winters direct and no nonsense aproach to his life and the Life of his fellow soldiers. I bought the book to follow up on the first account of Easy company and was not dissapointed, and I do think these men are heroes.
