I will be singing in this opera in January 2010 in San Antonio, TX
It is a fantastic opera with wonderful music. More people should take advantange of buying this performanced. The costumes a beautiful, the singing is specatcular and the sound is wonderful.

) I have this opera sung in French with Joan Sutherland, and have enjoyed it everytime I viewed it!
I enjoy the Beverly Sills version far more!! One it is in English making it easier to follow. Two is Bubbles! Beverly "Bubbles" Sills makes this rise ove good to EXCELLANT! The Daughter of a reginment is played as impish by Sills. The impish tone of her voice in recititive and airia adds to the comic opera!
I will be viewing this version more frequently than previous editions. At these falling prices there is NO excuse not to add this musical, and comedic, gem to your musical library!!
