Beverly Lewis Amish Heritage Cookbook by Beverly Lewis (2004, Paperback, Spiral)

This has a lot of good recipes! And if you ever read any of Beverly's Amish novels, you will be a guest in one of her charactor's kitchens enjoying down home, good ol' comfort foods.
I am the kind that will read a cookbook on a cold winter night just to imagine how good a dish could be, and this is a good one for that; good food, bible verses and common sense.

I enjoy this cookbook! Little bits of interesting quotes, family stories connected to certain recipes, plus, of course, some very tasty recipes!
This is the first cookbook I actually READ before using!
I definitely reccomend it!

I love my cookbook. I had been looking for this in the bookstores and decided to go online to see if i could get it cheaper. I did! This would make a great wedding gift as well as a birthday gift for a special friend! I love the home cooked meals.

I decided to buy this book after I had read all of Beverly Lewis's books. I love the recipes and the comments written by Ms. Lewis after each one. There is nothing about this book that I dislike.

I liked the book, but the recipes weren't what I thought they would be. I'm from the Lancaster County area and it didn't have the good recipes in it like I thought it would. What was in it was okay. I bought it for the old recipes, which were not there. Over all I would buy the book again.

After reading The Preacher's Daughter by Beverly Lewis I was "hooked" on her writing. The mention of some of the Amish foods in her books tempted me to buy the cookbook. I'm glad I bought the cookbook and have enjoyed trying a couple of the recipes in it.

I bought Beverly Lewis' Amish Heritage Cookbook. I can't wait to try it...gave it to my dh so my kids could give it to me for Christmas...I like Amish cooking, good homemade comfort food thats inexpensive, and yummy....(I have tried other Amish cookbooks). I realy like Beverly Lewis' books too. The printing is large so will be easy to read, and a great price.

Anything that Beverly Lewis writes is top-notch. I buy every book that she has. I was very impressed with her Amish Cookbook. One day I will travel to Lancaster County to see the beautiful quilts and other things that the true amish people make.

I have over 100 cookbooks, and this will end up being a favorite. Not only is it well-written with many interesting anecdotes, but the recipes are healthful and different from most. I have read it from cover to cover, have learned much of the Amish traditions, plus delighted family members with the recipes. I would not hesitate to recommend this cookbook to anyone.

This was an extremely nice cookbook. I wish I could have kept it myself but I bought it for my granddaughter for Christmas. She was very, very happy with it.....and so was her mother!!!!! Very down to earth type recipes.

This recipe book (along with any other Amish recipe book), the recipes are more simple to understand and also you do not need to buy all these fancy items (sometimes you cannot find the item) that they asked for. At least all the Amish recipes that I know of DO NOT have any wine or alcohol of any kind. I would recommend everybody try some of the different kind of Amish recipes and see how good they taste and they will enjoy those more then all these with all those fancy items in them.

I was very happy with the purchase. I bought it for my best friend in Maryland and I know that she will appreciate it as she loves Amish recipes.
