Beulah Land (DVD, 2005, 2-Disc Set)

I love most movies depicting the Civil War era and this movie fit the bill. I decided to buy it because I lost the other copy and it's one of my rainy day movies to watch. I like Leslie Ann Warren and have since I was young. All around a good movie.

I have always admired Lesley Anne Warren, saw this movie years ago, forgot about it, and saw it mentioned in a magazine recently. A friend suggested that I try EBay. And, there it was!!

I had seen this movie some years back and deiced that I would like to have
it in my video library. I have been very happy with my purchase.

I had seen it on tv many years ago and love it and had been trying to buy it but it was very expensive. So I went this way and got it at a reasonable price.

This sweeping epic dramatized the lives of two Georgia families during the early-to-mid 1800s: the Kendricks, who resided on the Beulah Land plantation, and the Davises, who owned the Oaks plantation. Both families loved, prospered and lost during this period, and were both touched by the events of the Civil War.

Great Movie remember when it first was shown on tv. Been looking for it for years..
A must for your dvd collection....

I bought this dvd because I loved the Beulah Land series of books written by Lonnie Coleman. The movie does not do the books justice, many things were changed and important characters left out, and some of the casting and acting is not good. It is watchable though, and some scenes are very good and do follow the written version. The characters of Bonard, Lauretta, Selma, Deborah and Felix were well cast and the actors did a good job. The fake southern accents were way over the top, though. Overall, it's not bad but could have been a lot better if they had followed the storyline as it was originally written.
