Best of y & T 81-85 by Y & T (CD, May-2005, A&M Records USA)

Fans of hard rock generally know about the band Y & T but they have never really gotten the attention or respect (or airplay on FM radio) that you'd have expected. Most of the songs they released never really charted or became popular but the band did an awful lot of touring and played for years turning on audiences to their unique style and music. All of the classics are on this one cd, and almost every song on this disk is absolutely outstanding! My personal favorites are the two songs you may hear on the radio from time-to-time: "Summertime Girls" & the rockin' "Midnight In Tokyo" along with my favorite song by them "Mean Streak". If you like very well put together hard rock with really good vocals then this band is for you. Instead of buying up all their early releases this Greatest Hits cd is really the way to go, plus the price is right.

I really only knew the Summertime Girls song from radio play, etc. but friends of mine that love more of the classic type rock said that I would like some of their other songs so I decided to get their greatest hits album. I would have to say that I was rather suprised that I really enjoyed the music as I normally like more of the hair/glam band type music...so thumbs up and good times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love this band. i purchased this cd, because i saw them win the battle of the bands back in the 70's. they are originaly from my home town of hayward,california. this brings back some great memories for me. i love this cd. everyone who likes good hard drivin rock music needs to take a listen to yesterday and today!

this album brings back some memories of the 80s, like seeing them "Y&T" in concert in San Jose ca. MANY times in the 80's. yeah, like Y&T THEMSELVES i was born and raised in the bay area,silicon valley,what a great place to live, during a great era of Rock & Roll.

I wish the songs were alittle better,it does have some good songs,however not as good as i thought it would be.In rock we trust is the best of their cds.I wish they would put acd out with all their really great songs.but this one aint it.

AS a teenage metalhead in the 80's, I loved this band. I sae them live a few times and had their casettes. When I saw the cd, I saw most of my favorite Y&T songs on one disc. All great tracks.
