Album Notes Midnight Star's number of chart hits make it rather easy for any compiler to put together a representative summary. When there are few big singles to work with, there's lots of room for error -- which album cuts should be included? The same goes for a group with well over a CD's worth of hits -- which singles should be left out? Since Midnight Star released just over a dozen singles that charted in some fashion, any compiler with access to the group's material can put together a set without much thought. To no surprise whatsoever, The Best of Midnight Star: Wet My Whistle -- released by Sanctuary in the U.K. -- doesn't look much different from the other Midnight Star compilations. It does throw in a few cuts that weren't released as singles in the States. And, unfortunately, that means "Freak-a-Zoid" and "No Parking (On the Dance Floor)" get squeezed out in the process. In other words, it's deeply flawed. ~ Andy Kellman
