Bernina artista180 Computerized Sewing Machine

I have owned a Bernina 180E (E=embroidery) for more than 10 years. This machine is easy to use and makes a beautiful stitch. The 9mm capability allows for very large decorative stitching and is great when a wide zigzag is needed. On the embroidery unit, one of the things that I like is the rectangular hoop. Bernina has gone to an oval shape on newer models but I prefer the full width of the rectangular hoop.

The one problem I have had with my 180 is that the needle threader has broken 3 times. The last time the dealer installed a new style needle threader which is sturdier and is wonderful. The needle threader is not an expensive repair should it need to be replaced.

This is a machine I have wanted for a long time. It is in good condition, but does have a small crack in the base (probably from shipping).The 180 is very user friendly. It is one of the best on the market even though it is about 10 years old. The stitching quality is beautiful, but havent tried all of them all yet. This machine is very versatile & I expect to get many years reliable use out of it. It does everything.Love it!!
