Movie Description
Small-town mechanic Benny (Aidan Quinn, LEGENDS OF THE FALL) is perhaps a tad overprotective of his mentally ill artist sister, Juniper "Joon" Pearl (Mary Stuart Masterson of FRIED GREEN TOMATOES), but that's only because he's completely devoted to her well-being. When Benny loses a poker game and is forced to take in a friend's eccentric houseguest--a droll, dyslexic oddball (Johnny Depp) who goes by the name of Sam and models himself after silent-film star Buster Keaton--Joon finds herself falling into a romance unbeknownst to her brother. Benny does eventually find out, though, and both siblings must come to terms with their changing relationship. BENNY & JOON, a must-see for Depp fans, is chockful of whimsy and affection. This charming romantic comedy co-stars Julianne Moore and William H. Macy in early film roles.

    This is one of my all-time favorite movies. Benny (played by Aidan Quinn) cares for his mentally ill sister Joon (played by Mary Stuart-Masterson) - life gets difficult when Joon scares off yet another housekeeper/day-time adult care provider. Along comes Sam (played by Johnny Depp), a mentally ill young man who is living under the sink at Benny's friend's house. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll ask yourself, "Do you have any avacados?"

    I know when this came to DVD I rushed out to get it. I loved this movie growing up and still do to this day. Johnny Depp is so funny in this movie and does a great job the whole way through. A story of two people who are totally different but yet still so right for each other. There are a couple moments where you might tear up but there is also a lot of seens that will make you giggle or laugh. Must see movie!
